Why do people have the wrong priorities?

When you look around, everyone is in survival mode. No one care about philosophy, epistemology, exploring the mind, metaphysics... 

They're lost chasing money, success, sex, marriage, friendships, romantic relationships, studies, work, political ideologies, social justice, religion...

But why no one is interested in existence itself, instead of their petty stupid human goals ?

You're born into a society and culture and indoctrinated from a young age. It's super hard to break out of that programming - even if you wanted to - everything is against you. Philosophy, epistemology and all that stuff is very hard to learn and understand, and most people don't see the utility of it, it doesn't help them survive. I wouldn't underestimate how indoctrinated you yourself are either, work on that, let others worry about themselves.

@Majed Neurotypicals often mostly care about meaning. They want to have a nice job, a nice marriage, nice family and they want to be respected. Learning about philosophy will not do this for them and this is why they don't care.

a human goal could be to know about existence!

Actually, is the nature of the human to ask questions, but as we grow up we are conditioned by our culture

the curiosity is baked in

you can decide to develop it or not, that is what separates a truth seeker from the conformist

but it takes a lot of effort

 

so, I would say people dont give a shit about this matters bc they stopped questioning reality as they grew older, AND because it takes a lot of emotional, cognitive and material effort to do so

It is important to distinguish meaning from truth. Truth is in some way more simple than people think. Truth is just a pattern. Truth seeking means completing patterns. This is why autistic people are more holistic than neurotypical smart people. Neurotypicals learn about science to get a nice prestigious job, not understand the world. But an autistic person doesn't give a shit about a nice job. They want to learn all the patterns and integrate them with each other so they are coherent.

To regular Joe me, truth which means the path to Truth, offers nothing. In fact it will upend your life, the work life and the family life. It will punish you for your choice. If this is such a big deal, why are seemingly none of my friends, my family and countrymen walking the walk. Why be a leper. Why waste a lifetime doing that when I have a sure plan in place for me and my children. I am happy like I am, I am doing well and to top it off I am a fantastic dancer.

Indeed. And the normals will call you insane or at least keep well away from you. Most can't bear the idea of that sort of separation from the flock. So they don't even start.
