Spirituality/Religion is death bypassing

9 posts in this topic

At its core, everyone is afraid of death and desperately looking for a solution.

Both are subtle attempts to avoid death..........that's why it sells so well

Some would say it's an attempt to discover the truth......but they believe the truth will set them free, which kinda sounds like avoiding death.

Fear of the unknown is a very very powerful emotion.

Lots of money to be made in diminishing people's fear.

Yes bypassing fear of death cucks your spiritual growth. Saying jesus of allah saves me is just pushing the thought away. Be afraid, be very afraid. The fear of death is intelligence.

You will awaken by being scared.

There is a story of sadhguru where he said he found another awakened person and he said he got there because he was sick and the doctors kept telling him he was going to die that day over and over again. So he kept being really scared and having to confront death daily.

If you can just do this to yourself without having any other interaction or bad things happening you are highly intelligent.

If you can sit there and induce panic with no stimuli you are being intelligent.

I was doing it without knowing about anything. I would just be sitting there watching a movie and my entire system would enter panic mode and I would say Im dying omg.

When you panic and feel like you are dying God is entering you.

Dying is God.

When you feel an emotion you are releasing it. Not doing it is keeping the fear inside.

They are essentially paying money to bottle up fear.

Then they create the idea of hell for the people to bottle up even more fear.

Anyone can easily understand the logic of spirituality. Reality exists. You exist. Therefore, you are reality in a concrete form.

Form begins and ends, but reality does not. Therefore, if you perceive yourself as that which exists in a form, and not as a separate form, then death is the end of form, not the end of what you truly are.

The problem is that it's not enough to simply understand this; you really have to open your perspective to what reality is, and this is difficult because form is so all-consuming.

Do you think you could just be identifying as "eternal reality" to escape the agonizing fear of death?

Just like how a christian believes their soul will live forever in the kingdom of heaven after body death.

Nothing goes on existing eternally because nothing is existing temporarily.

This is what enlightenment illuminates.

It's also what "to die before you die" and "nobody becomes enlightened" is referring to.

Enlightenment is the end of that conditioned "me character" trying to attain it. It's the end of something that was never real, it was an illusion.

It's the end of knowing because it's the end of the knower.

I'm not talking about identifying with reality, but about opening yourself to the fact of what you are. It's not about knowing something, but a change in the energetic structure of what you are. Maharshi, Basul, Buddha, the Taoists, they called it enlightenment, because it brings a luminous quality to your experience, the end of the lack.

The total, unlimited being shines because it is, it recognizes itself, and its limitlessness translates into total joy. Sat Chit Ananda, as Advaita Vedanta said.

Btw, what fear to death? How could you fear don't exist? It's like fearing deep sleep, there is nothing bad in it.

But reality is and you are that. The human will dissapear, same than any other form, but the reality is. Maybe you wouldn't know, remember, feel it, because it belongs to form, but you are, that's inevitable. Just trascend the human for a moment and open yourself to the totality, it's not a magic history or anything, it's the obvious fact of the unlimited being.

@VeganAwake I think the inquiry might start from that death anxiety but there is an answer .so it's not just wishful thinking .yes the body will die in no time..but you are settling for this?
