Awakening while dreaming at night

For the first time in my life, I've had an Awakening while dreaming at night. This has been a very new experience for me, the intensity and medium of the experience/consciousness state/ mind landscape, was very different, the mechanics were more fluid and powerful.

I remember Leo speaking of this possibility in his video outrageous experiments in consciousness. I'd like to know if more people have experienced an Awakening while dreaming at night.

PD: I'm not talking about dream work or any other tangent, I'm talking about insane levels of consciousness and if that happens in aggregate with other aspects like classic lucid dreaming then share.

I had another weird experience (not an Awakening), when I was a teenager. While taking a nap I lived a parallel life for many years. When I woke up from that 30min nap, all soaked in sweat, I was so shocked and depersonalised. I was traumatised for the next two weeks, paranoid I would also wake up from that life as well and had no ground to keep my sanity.

It was an extraordinary life changing experience, but not an Awakening per se. Well I did awaken from that life/dream indeed

What exactly is an awakening? What does it entail? Based on your posts, I gather it's realizing you are a god. How do you realize that?

@Breakingthewall No it wasn't a God Realisation, that's much more than Awakening.

For me an Awakening is the discovery/breakthrough into a new radical high state of consciousness.

This one was an overwhelmingly fluid and overflowing perfection

Then you mean deeper perception of existence. Like a new possiblity of perception that was closed for you now is opened or is starting to be opened

You could say it that way yes

I like Awakening because of the connotation that you feel extremely Awake/Aware (meaning high consciousness)

@Davino I had many vivid dreams and long dreams as well. I totally relate with the notion that you are so bought into the dream to the point you take it as full fledged life.  This is what blows my mind about dreams..is that as you are going through the dream you seem to be totally immersed in it to the point you take it as the one and only reality there is ..you don't question it..you just live the experience fully..it doesn't even occur to you where did I come from or where is going ..you just carry on with the story as if it's obvious whats real ..same thing is happening with this life isn't it?

One time in a dream I smoked dmt and may have had an awakening but it was so brief that it's really hard to say .

@Someone here Same thing, dreams don't need to happen in the beginning, they may start at whatever imaginary point in time with a whole coherent back story. There's really no reference frame for reality other than reality itself, every moment therefore is the only self evident truth.

It probably was, Dreams tend to not be stored in memory

. Yes exactly that's what i tried to say . Also in a sense all there is is dreams.  Things don't really exist unless you dream them somehow.  I know it's hard to make sense of it but if you really get it it frees you of lot of suffering..but will also create solipsistc philosophical questions but round and round we go we need to just accept what is true and self evident and can't be broken down to anything more fundamental.

Words can only convey an approximation of meaning, not the meaning itself. It that vain, I've had a few  'awakening' experience in a dream/sleep state; these experiences of awakening were unsolicited and completely distinct from dreaming - including 'lucid' dreams. There was a deep intuitive understanding of the true nature of self, it was like a peek behind the curtains so to speak - a bit like Dorothy, peeling back the curtains in the 'Wizard of Oz'.

I've had dreams, especially when i was younger, living out entire lifetimes. I was always considered wise for my years, probably cause of my insane dreams hehe

Yes I have but I have it all the time waking and dreaming.  What was your exact experience can you describe?

@Inliytened1 I aspire to your level of consciousness , I've been saying for awhile now that 90% of these teachers aren't really in Sahaja Samadhi.

Its not all roses. Im riddled with OCD.  Most people who are genetically spirituality gifted - it comes with a price. Usually some type of.mental disorder.

Yes I have one to share. About 1.5 years ago I experienced this overwhelming and powerful loving presence from this entity in my dream. I was doing some meditation and therapy at the time, learning to love myself. But the love in this dream was easily 100x that. The light this entity was emitting was the most beautiful and brilliant white in the center which turned into vibrant rainbow away from the center, spectacular all around. Each ray carried the power of this Love and it was being directed at me. It was accompanied by angelic singing, which was the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I was somewhat sad as I couldnt find any song in waking life that comes close to it.

I have never experienced anything close to this amount of Love on earth. So it was a shock to wake up from it the next day and took me a while to process it.

The only thing I could attribute the cause to this dream is maybe the loving kindness meditations or therapy loosening the hold of my ego. After this dream, I started having other dreams of complete peace or ones with lighter amounts of this love. A few dreams I think even showed me hints of what things would occur the next day.

this is a little off topic, but i've had a few panic attacks inside my nighttime dreams. it's weird because the physical body isn't reacting as strongly, but somehow my mind still knew that i was having a panic attack.

maybes that's a similar phenomenon? as in, a similar non-physical energetic layer is affected.

there might also be some links to a person's predisposition to experiencing sleep paralysis or the onset of OBEs while in the lighter phases of sleep.
