Nobody knows anything

8 posts in this topic

Why do we kid ourselves?

I’m finding this position is the best ground to do deep contemplation about what’s true- prevents you from taking on biases of teachers and humans in general.

Pick up a topic, and admit to yourself that nobody knows anything about it. Until we personally validate truth claims about any aspect of reality, it is hearsay taken on faith.

For example- The sky was blue before you knew that others “knew” about the color of the sky. Our experience is prior and fundamental than the idea of some “other” knowing about it.

It’s true, nothing is known outside of human-constructed concepts.

Words serve only as tools shaping and flavouring representational models of what is ultimately mysterious and unknowable.

Nothing knows what is being looked at, or what is looking at what is being looked at.

Unfortunately most people are drunk on knowledge.

The bible says when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge they became knowledgeable of good and bad and gotten kicked out of the paradise..because satan told them you gonna live forever like god .  Decode.

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

Mentioning that people lack strong understanding and then quoting a Bible verse isn’t very wise. It’s not a good combination, and people won’t read it as intelligent. Instead, it comes across as someone who thinks they’re saying something profound, while actually lowering the quality of the message. Be more attentive to this going forward, or don’t.

Yes, certainty tends to crowd out learning. Information gets bounced off - or tends to be twisted to fit what is already there.

I run into this in business. When I am raising a possible issue we need to address to prevent a future bad outcome.

I usually encounter this when I am speaking to someone that outranks me in experience.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.
