Why Death?

36 posts in this topic

Why do I have to dissappear forever?

Why must I be extinguished?

Snuffed out, as if to have never been at all.

Is it Death when you have completely lost control? Or is it Death when the body perishes?

This form will be no more but life within you will go on. The beauty of life is in its transience.

The real "I" won't disappear forever . However this particular human being you're identified with will disappear forever.  Why ? Think of falling asleep and waking up in the morning ..at the end of the day don't you find yourself exhausted and sleepy and ready to fall asleep and crash in your bed ? And then you die temporarily in sleep and wake up next morning refreshed and energised.  Same thing with life and death. When you get old enough it's similar to being sleepy af and you will have experience fatigue and you will be totally fine with the idea of death .you will die temporarily to rest and you will be born again as a child refreshed and energised .

So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."

It's worse than that.

Death is already.

The experience of having or loosing control is an illusion. There isn't a real "I" in the body to live or die.

Illusions dont reincarnate.....they just never were!

Self illusion doesn't want to hear it though 🤷‍♂️

Because without time you cant be aware of distinction, so things must change by definition, and you must change because youre identified with form, and eventually you change so much that you end.

You dont dissapear. You cant dissapear. You cant dissapear for eternity.

"I" disappears all the time. Deep sleep. Deep meditation (turiya). Same with death. This small wave of consciousness called the "I" folds back into an of ocean of consciousness.

Don't assume you know what death is.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Once death has come, I won't know it. My practice has always been to relinquish all experience to the greater- infinite consciousness.

Perhaps at death a "Knowing" could possibly remain devoid of experience. We'll see.

Yeah death is absolutely terrible, I wouldnt do it.

I became a little dead once and it was horrible, here is what I saw:

What death literally is for me is a combination of „lonely, cold, fear, dismal, oppressive, a bit of agoraphobia, uncomfortable, cold wind breathing through a terrible cave, heavy metal music, ..“. That’s what death literally is. These beliefs are of course laughable. We don’t think that this is what we mean when we talk about death but because we hold these beliefs unconscious and because these beliefs are so terrible that we don’t dare to make them conscious death seems super real for our entire life.

If you believe death to be like nothing, why would you be concerned about it?

Are you concerned when you go to sleep that you’re gonna “disappear “ in deep sleep as in being unconscious ?

If you are in deep sleep forever, there’s no you there to mind it. Any concern is just image in your mind, you’re fearing life! Because you’re fearing an image in your mind, your thoughts are form and you’re scared.

(I don’t believe death is permanent deep sleep but plenty do, so that’s what I refer to)

Going halfway doesn't count. That's like dipping your toe in the water to see if it feels cold. You gotta jump in all the way.

*Edit: Not physical death but surrendering the "I am"

@cetus The only reason you think that is because you are identified as the human. Death forces you to identify with the ocean of conciousness. You will be there and you will see it you will be it.

There is a difference in witnessing deep sleep and being deep sleep. You never dissapear its coming to terms with that that is hard. You will know you are still there when you are dead.

You can still think or be emotional when you are dead. When you fully die you will still be there not emoting just looking.

You think deep sleep is nothing because you are not currently identifying with it. When you do you see its you and you exist forever.

You have to ask yourself though if this actually takes away your fear of death or if it is just a story thats supposed to take the fear of death away which makes you think that you conquered your fear of death when you really havent.

That is a very true possibility.

I have had significant fears in my life, social, fear of bad reincarnations, fear of disease, but this version of death that is talked about as “nothing”, i don’t remember being scared of that idea becuase if you picture it, you might picture blackness, but then you imagine deep sleep, and you can’t, but you know it’s not scary to sleep, its nothing

I was always very afraid of exactly that story about death even though I logically knew there wouldnt be a reason to be afraid about it. I dont think the ego can make sense of it. The ego fears it.

I recently had a dream about this nothingness though which was a bit insightful.

Many probably are. And I think some of it is deep attachment to this current life that sits at the root of it

Dreams can be deep. I had a dream of being paralyzed and loosing all my sense perceptions but still being aware, that seemed scary to me

There will be no "mental health". The mind will be left behind.

Well you have to hope you will get there safely and then integrate the experience safely.

I could just have a horror trip without any insight.
