Professor Dave's agressive communication style

There are many things wrong with this guy, but 1 thing that sticks out is his reasoning style. The end goal he is trying to reach is to demolish his opponent by being a more rational person, thus proving himself and his worldview.

Perfect example is his last video debunking supposed pseudoarcheology titled

Jimmy Corsetti is human garbage.

It's the problems of metaphysics-blind pop science and epistemically myopic and p-hacking nature of debunking videos all combined into one hot mess.

He dosent even use intelligence to debunk theories. He just uses science terms and repeats the science terms. They make a theory and he says no because of this science term. Its super dumb borderline retarded, not the good retarded the arrogant version of it.

His debunking style is like Alex o'conners philosophy style. I would rate them together in terms of intelligence.

His debating is awful. He does so many personal attacks on his opponents, it is shameful.

Serious scientists should be embarrassed to have Dave representing them. It makes science as a field look as dogmatic as religion.

Dave is actually doing us a service by putting science's dogmatism out on display for all to see. Usually scientists are much more clever about masking their dogmatism in a veneer of propriety and decency. Dave just goes full materialist beast mode.

@Leo Gura Dave is way more aggressive but in theory imo they are doing the same thing intelligence wise. They are just repeating what someone else said and using that as a defense against their own beliefs (which is just others beleifs systems)

It might be less intelligent to Dave to personally insult the people behind the theories, but both are doing the same thing imo. Instead of insulting o'conner gets insulted.

None have their own grounding. It is crazy for Dave to get so angry and insulting when he has no idea what he's talking about. He dosent know you cant debunk theories of everything with science.

I saw a video where he tried to debunk the ctmu with science. Hes totally out of his ballpark most of the time.

You should also note that Dave frequently deletes YT comments that disagree with him. He proudly admits to doing so.

So even if someone presents a good argument against him he will just delete it.

He literally created a scientism echochamber with his channel and is proud of it.

By the way, Dave is not actually a scientist. He does no actual scientific experiments or discoveries. He is a mouthpiece for scientific beliefs.

His standard for what is a cult is so stupid and unscientific.

He would call any meeting of humans that disagrees with his ontology a cult. Which is absurd and false.

If he had the openmindedness to watch my videos on Cult Psychology he might actually learn what a cult is and isn't.

"Leo Gura is a cult leader" is not a scientific statement, backed with zero scientific experiment, and unfalsifiable.

So, technically speaking, Dave is a pseudo-scientist by the criteria of science.

Cult leaders dont allow open discussion like this to be had. Leo allows people to talk on this forum mostly openly and from what I see rarely bans from what I see its mostly the mods doing that. You can insult him and he wont ban you from what I have seen.

If dave deletes comments that dont agree with him on his platform that seems like he is more of a cult leader.

If dave had a meetup IRL would he instantly become a cult leader?

Has dave ever had a in person meetup? Because if he has hes a cult leader then.

I mean, those things Leo says about absolute truth and your mind being sneaky can sound suspect for sure. But, those kinds of statements in and of themselves don’t make it a cult. I do think those episodes may be a little sloppy on Leo’s part. I can sense the fear in Prof Dave. He is trying to protect his mind and has taken certain things and statements as warning signs of cults. He is a scientist rationalist materialist. So, anything spiritual or woo is an automatic bullshit for him and so when Leo talks about God, and makes this statements like “this is the absolute truth and if your denying this that’s your mind bla bla”…. Yeah, I get it. His response is rational given where he comes from. 
 

But, I’d like to see Dave do some research and technical definition of cults. 

40 Minutes in he goes to Leo’s work. 
- he states Leo is using Quantum mechanics to “draw his lies from”…. Without proof. 
- “thinking really hard isn’t enough to understand a thing” …. While ignoring all the quotes from authorities provided in the video

- Leo saying it’s the absolute truth but your mind has a million excuses without providing context is sloppy too. Could be making a false equivalency between him and a malicious cult intent. Perhaps our minds do have a million excuses that stops us from grasping infinity and absolute truth? What if that’s true regardless if if Leo says it or not? Is Leo trying to convince you of something self serving? Or, no? What’s self serving about infinity?
- Poor example of gaslighting, though… yes, there is something there about Leo commenting on your perception and fear of his ideas. 

- Leo’s trip footage is strange to me. Leo’s awaking never led to miraculous healing. ❤️‍🩹 Will a God realization heal me of every disease and problem I have? It didn’t seem to heal Leo himself. What’s the dealio Leo??

- death is truth, love, infinity, God, selfishness… this I think is true

and Life being survival. 
 

- Leo has never physically died in my opinion. 
- Dave then suggests Leo is trying to separate vulnerable people from their support systems which, years later he never has tried to do. And, there is no proof Leo has or will ever do this. 
- hmm, not a well balanced critique. And a call to “aggressively disempower” Leo is interesting. Not good to do that just because you disagree with someone or they are wrong about things. Leo hasn’t shown to be running a cult.
