People don't value good people. They value status.

Just sharing a new insight as someone who was raised in a green city, now living in a very orange world. 

I always thought what mattered most was being a good person, and it isn't. 

It's status.

I always thought that if I were a good person and everyone else recognized me as a good person, then my life would go well. It's pretty much the exact opposite.

I'm a social person to an extent. I care about other people, and I want their love and admiration. Even before my realization, I wanted status.

I'm a young guy- just graduated from college and have been unemployed for coming up on 4 months.

The worst people in college- rapists, assholes, psychopaths. THEY'RE THE ONES WHO GET ALL THE GIRLS AND JOBS!!!

Love yourself. Most people are incapable of really loving you. Sorry. Relationships are generally transactional.

They value good people in the sense that you won't screw them over, but you still need to provide value to them.

Yes true, they value status because Ego is supreme in the world, what ppl think of themselves is important, and their always comparing (using bored images and status symbols brainwashed into them via a corrupt and unconscious society and world) themselves to others, valuing things & possessions over goodness and ppl in general, basically ppl have an Exclusive view of themselves and the world, its Me Myself and I rather than all of Us as a community that are basically the same with same goals of wanting a quality life full of Happiness, Health and Well Being, which in the end is what we all want right?

Yup, most people are so unconscious that they live in reptilian brain. In order to get that brain to focus on and respect you, you gotta behave in its language: unconsciousness.

You're correct but be careful this can lead to a lot of resentful energy. Most people are playing monkey games in life. They don't even realize they're doing it. 

The solution to this is to play status games consciously. Admit that you want status and seek it. Burn through that karma. 

And then when you have status and respect, you can demonstrate your higher values and become a powerful leader. 

You can show them the way.

The issue isn't necessarily status. It's how a specific culture defines what deserves status. Western culture, especially in the US, defines status in a very materialistic fashion. Other cultures may value the most collaborative or most giving. Status seeking behaviour can be beneficial at a certain stage of development, you just want to be conscious of which status games you're playing. Play the status games that move you beyond status seeking.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get so much support from everyone. I thought I would have to try really hard to defend my position.

I live in America, and was most recently a college student. What's your status in college? Being on the football team, being in the top frat. 

I really wish I had learned to play football and been a good QB. That would have done wonders for my self-esteem and confidence. I probably wouldn't be searching for a job because people would be fawning over me. 

Yes, I also feel like I need to be able to "burn through that karma" to be able to move on, but what I will say is that status games can be played at a stage green level as well: I've noticed how some libs love to flex how great of a person they are, how woke they are, how they wouldn't dare to certain things etc. I think it's really performative and to show off to other libs how committed they are, but it's such bullshit- it's a performance to flex on other libs.

I guess this is why Leo Gura believes socialism can't be, and humans are inherently capitalistic- because there's always a hierarchy when it comes to humans. In stage green, it's who is doing the most "good" for the world. 

I think for as long as I live, I will have to abide by their rules of what constitutes status, or else people won't respect me, listen to me, or want to be around or seen with me. And, I have to abide by those rules because I care about being a part of society.

The problem is I can't fully intuit what these people value and how to structure my life accordingly.

First and foremost, people don't value truth, or genuine truth seeking. This is simply undeniable, nobody can argue the opposite. Therefore, perhaps the best strategy is for us to also not value truth that much as well, but just go with the flow, so to speak. Whatever is the social consensus at the moment, is usefull, therefore better for me since agreeing with the consensus makes it more likely for me to get to the cheese. Leo, I'm hereby surrendering my attempts at truth and inteligence. Why deny my rat nature, we all just want the cheese at the end of the day, who wants to transcend the labyrinth? Surely it is an impossible task anyway, ought to make you confused, cynical and maybe even crazy

Good is entirely subjective. What's good for you might not be good for me. 

People sort for survival, hence why good is subjective.
