Survival is Everything

13 posts in this topic

I deliberately used this title to stir up some emotions :D

I will be brief and conscise because i have to engage in some survival functions soon.

I was raised up not poor but not rich either. There was a time in my life where my needs where being met. My physical needs mostly.

This allowed the opportunity to say for few years "fk survival. Im just gonna put all my energy and focus on spirituality"

And i did that until it became untenable.

Now i find myself regularly getting homicidal, feeling rage , bitterness and anger.

Im not a violent person. I have just smashed few objects here and there, to allow the furious energy to move.

I have come to realize that if i don't fullfill certain needs i will do bad things to myself or possibly even others. Check what the Unabomber did.

Only thing that gives me joy is walking, reading, atttending NA meetings and doing my spiritual practice.

The spiritual practice i do, is the most important thing in my life right now. I value it more than anything.

But i need to eat good food and be othetwise healthy to maintain this practice.

My problem is this: I feel very confused and i dont understand. What transcending survival even means?

These urges and drives are like laws of nature that i dont ever see getting rid of. They can definitely be diminished in intensity but never obliterated (i assume).

I have heard many contradictory things from teachers. Others are very survival based (like Leo).

Othes like David Parish say "if you have a roof over your head and a meal inside yout stomach then you should be meditating 30 mins everyday like your life depends on it".

How should one approach the continuous , never-ending adaptive problems of survival while at the same time pursuing spiritual work?

There was guy called Siddhartha Gautama who was living in a Palace eating fruit meals with gold spoons and he deliberately said fuck off to the entire world and went to the woods alone without food and water and started meditating 24/7 until one of two things happen :  either he dies.. or he awakens . You know the rest .

Your beef is with reality. Play its game and abide by its rules and both you AND reality will be happy. There is no other way out. Doesn't matter if you're 25 or 90. It always asks the same thing. Play by the rules: facilitate evolution.

Even if you choose to not facilitate, it will you use as an example to show others what they will become if they shirk the responsibility.

You need to understand your psyche. Specifically, the nature of your psyche, what you truly want. And don't ignore your desires; discarding desires is nonsense (that's a slightly different story). The fact that you're feeling rage may indicate a lot of energy within you, coupled with discontent. Awakening isn't the absence of desires, it's Pure Desire, Existence itself, it's Life itself manifesting through you, and therefore God. And survival is also a manifestation of Life. Imagine that you are a Primordial Beast, incredibly powerful, a true natural, primordial force. Ahahaha, this is how God manifests Himself on these levels. God is not Good and Evil.

Listen to gurus less. The answer is within you.

When "What about Me" drops, and when you stop Accumulating ppl, places and things to feel fulfilled stops, then Your living beyond Survival, which is what a Human Being should be doing and Being, our potential is way beyond Survival Instinct and actions, its tragedy when Humans are trapped in the Accumulation stage for their entire lives!

Karma Means "Life is my Making", I am 100% responsible for my Inner Experience. -Sadhguru..."I don''t want Your Dreams to come True, I want something to come true for You beyond anything You could dream of!!" - Sadhguru

I don't think the title is wrong though... although there is the healthy and the unhealthy way of surviving. Obviously if you had an awakening you would understand all of this limbo more deeply.

@SQAAD

Seek challenges that bring out your primal nature and build a strong, disciplined, and humble character. Unleash the potential within you, your commitment, and your dedication. Otherwise, no matter how much elusive spirituality you cultivate, you will be weak, inconsistent, underdeveloped, a mere embryo of a human being.

Remember that nothing is guaranteed; you are in the jungle. Become aware of this fact by venturing into the jungle.

This is a very easy question to answer.

Get your survival completely handled such that your entire time or the most of it is free time. And devote that free time to spirituality. That's all.

Of course you gonna say that you are stuck in wage slavery working in a dog shit job...the soultion is still in your hands..not mine..Leo has a video about escaping wage slavery ..go watch it . You have a smartphone in your hands now and access to Internet...go flip the entire Internet upside-down searching for ways to escaping wage slavery : investing..saving money ..I honestly don't know. Sell something ..work even extra hours so that you make more money and save them etc.

My life is a piece of cake...i wake up..go to college..finish my stuff ..and the rest is exploring existence .it is literally infinite out there .

I imagine Leo lives the best life ever ..he was done with all this survival nonsense in the beginnings of his 20s and now he has the luxury of thinking about the difference between rat conciousness and alien consciousness (whatever the hell that means ).

I hope this is a twisted joke, because if you are being smug correcting a man for how he writes while writing like you do, you have zero self awareness.
