Why do some people reject the existence of God?

8 posts in this topic

I can’t wrap my head around why someone would choose to deny the existence of God, not realising their own existence is a contingent phenomena. . why would the belief in God be based solely on “faith” rather than empirical verification of God?

The word Faith just seems to be such a distorted irrelevant word. And yet it’s so common within religious doctrines.

Would appreciate your thoughts about the word “Faith” and why the word just seems to obscure the obvious actual truth from our very non physical eyes.

Because god preordained them to be blind to the obvious

Did God not want them to see him?

Rather, God just wanted them to know him through the recognition that there can’t be two seers having a face off with each other?

God is denying the existence of God.

Fear of having their entire sense of reality  crumbled, challenged and transformed.

I think because the idea of God remains an eternal mystery, its not truly grounded and tangible, and I feel this is why many ancient cultures and native peoples didn't worship what couldn't be touched, tasted, seen, because it wasn't always the wisest way, rather they worked with whats been there all along, so they worshiped what is around them and supporting them (nature), that they can more directly connect with daily, the sun, the moon, the trees, the animals, plants ect... Which are all God or Tao, and paradoxically that 'divine essence' can experienced and felt through the physical human experience in this way. So its like skipping the middle man.

In my experience the closest i felt to what people term God is bathing in forests and living off the natural land, growing food, swimming in the rivers and waterfalls, taking care of plants and animals, hiking in mountains daily, and generally living the physical life fully of service to the land and in total harmony with the greater nature around me.

It is through the Mother that we can truly embrace the Father.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance of separative... unity...

God don't want, only you want. God is openess without center, and seems that nobody can be open to it without get in panic and invent some grip to feel safe.

God is the death of the self, it's the dissolution in the abyss, the no foundation, the absolute no form, the non thinkable, non definable. God is what the self want to avoid.

Because they don't know what God truly  is .they have a strawman idea of God (the old dude in the clouds ) and they judge that .

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."
