Technology is causing insomnia

14 posts in this topic

I haven't slept in the last 48 hours and I'm already feeling like existence is not real 😂

All thanks to my addiction to technology . I come back home from college around 4 PM. Then I stay till past midnight on my Laptop or phone or PlayStation or whatever. I'm either gaming ..listening to loud music ..trolling on some Discord server ..etc extremely hyperstimulated. Add to that cigarettes and Caffeine = impossible to sleep .

Our ancestors thousands of years ago had nothing to do in the nighttime. Because there was no electricity. As soon as the sun sets it gets pitch black ..and after a long day of hunting for their daily food they just make some fire in the evening and relax and sleep early and wake up with sunrise.  Pretty natural life.

Guys if you suffer from insomnia stay away from screens and Internet as sooner from the evening as possible.

At least take a nap, man. You're the one using the tech.

No! Theres no one using tech. The tech is using itself. Its emptiness using emptiness. Not even using - it's just emptiness.

EMPTINESS EMPTINESSING :P

@Someone here Please sleeps, for us? :x

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

You are causing insomnia using tech & could stop at any point is probably a more accurate way to say this.
Or not, you seem to be enjoying your neurosis.

Well ..who's the victim here ? Social media is designed to keep you hooked and tied  to your fucking phone 24/7 . You keep scrolling shorts and you keep jumping from one thing to another mindlessly. It's really difficult to stop this .I call it addiction . What I'm proposing is that people back in the days had it easier regarding this side of the coin..that is ..that they didn't have YT or TikTok or PH or none of that ..so they can relax and unwind in the evening instead of partying with their online imaginary friends . Which is what makes people up all night .

Exercise daily, spend more time outside, using your body, you will feel tired and no electronics or blue-light emitting devices yes. Never have coffee after 1 - 2 pm and cigarettes are full of chemicals these days, get some real tobacco like mapacho (nicotina rustica).

There’s no victim here unless you identify as such. You choose to numb yourself & stay up all night at the end of all your excuses. Does technology make it harder? Yes. So what? It’s still not causing it & it’s still a choice.

It's primarily the mania/neurosis that new technologies can indeed support.

Btw the darkness of night is artificial; there's the reflection of the moon and the Earth's atmosphere in nature.

Not gonna lie, I don't know what tf I would do without these technologies, how I would entertain myself. Life is just too sad and bleak on it's own. Unless I'd somehow manage to be living in ideal conditions - meaning I wouldn't have to work cause I'd have fuck-you money, I'd be living very near beautifull nature with very little human toxicity and clean air - but also not far from civilization as well, a lot of opportunities for social life etc. etc. Let's say everything would be ideal for me like that. Then under these circumstances I think I would be able to drop various habits deemed generally negative. But since that shit aint happening, one must cope. As Plato once said "A measure of a man is how well he's able to cope" yeah, I'm pretty sure that was his quote

The truth is, you've merely been 'brought up' this way so you probably don't know anything or any other way to live.

All the excess use of technological stimulation has rendered all the 'happy chemicals' in your brain (to keep it in simple terms) depleted.

Life is not sad at all, in fact life is a direct reflection of how you feel on the inside. I understand what you are saying and its unfortunately we are living these artificial lives and un-natural living, but nothings ever going to change until we change ourselves.

I live both in the city sometimes and sometimes completely in nature, and of course I prefer to live in nature all the time but in today's day and age there is a lot of things we need to do to ideally own our own land and grow our own food because most people will not be able to just sell everything and wander into the jungle and never return, its possible but very challenging if you've been brought up living in a smart-house with devices.

So we need to find a middle way, and how i see it these days is, the more peaceful and at peace i feel (no matter the circumstance or environment) the more i start to notice (the world around me) change for the better, more opportunities open up in a positive way, as long as I take care of myself, eat clean food, meditate, spend time in nature and do my spiritual maintenance (so to speak), staying on top of the game.

This way naturally you find we always feel happiness and peace within (when we dealt with all our demons) and then it doesn't really matter where you are, and you can find joy and enjoyment in anything.
