Realized I was misunderstanding his points about Ralston. But truthfully- one cannot deeply understand Consciousness without making proper distinctions within it. This is where something a like psychedelic is superior.

Ralstons retreats and contemplation intensives can’t rise to the level of making such distinctions, it’s limited to the sober, human waking state. Ralston could be more humble about it-it doesn’t negate its work, it just points out limitations. Psychedelics also have their own inherent limitations

Why would that be the case?

Some of the skills Ralston teaches seem to be applicable in many different kind of states and it isn't exclusive to sober state.

is it applicable to Alien Consciousness? 

Keep in mind Consciousness is infinite and there are infinite radically different states.

Is what Ralston even says relevant at a peak 5 MEO DMT trip?

No clue, since I dont know what that is, but the point is just that its unclear to me how many states those methods are limited to.

A good chunk of the methods are probably limited to states where you still have thoughts, other methods are limited to states where you are still capable of self-reflection.

I have taken a considerable amount of psychedelics mostly in ceremonies, so I have had the opportunity to compare my experiences with other people.  What I have learned is that general statements about psychedelics are mostly false.  These drugs affect everyone differently.  The same substance that gives you a life changing insight might give someone else a headache.   I have also found that facilitators and “shamen” don’t know anymore than you do.   

So what is the value of asking Ralston to take 5-meo?  If it works for him, that doesn’t mean it will work for you.  And if it doesn’t work for him, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.  The exercise just perpetuates meaningless chatter dressed up as a search for deep consciousness.

It would be very interesting to see how Ralston gets consciousness on steroids with 5 Meo. He is a special guy so it would be not a casual 5 Meo experience for him.
