It seems like my impression of what he said was exaggerated. He claims various things about having created an eternal Linga that will cleanse people from dark energies (including the occult) if they visit.

He also claims the spiritual knowledge of how to create such a Linga was uploaded into him by his Guru through a touch of his forehead with his staff.

Yes the Dylanalinga, which almost killed him and a few others, its the main reason why he was here, he was supposed to leave the body (mahasamahdi) after its completion, but as an experiment he wanted to see if he could reconstruct his energy body with the help of others, so he did it...glad he did..

As to the stories of how this all started, his past lives and so forth, I pay less attention to that, all that matters is that his stuff works, and it does, how he promotes himself and Isha is up to him, not my concern not should it be!

Dude, watch the posted video. He is lecturing Healthy Gamer on how people without silent minds are basically mentally ill and how easy it is to shut off the mind and if you can't then you are basically mentally ill.

I watched it, he said that Compulsion is the fundamental reason why mental illness is rampant, we are the most compulsive society ever...I did not hear him say a silent mind is the solution!

@Leo Gura You can't do a 21-minute meditation?

Where is the hardcore attitude of spirituality? Does that only come up with drugs?

Where is the scientific rigor to find out if it works or not? Did you lose that?

you are demonstrating deep unseriousness here, Leo

I don't know how this is relevant.

Could you have predicted that the ultra-depressed person that Eckhart was, would've turned into the guru he is today? If you had told him "awakening is simply not in the cards for you, bud, some people were just born to be like that", do you see how dangerous that is? (not dangerous with respect to suicidality, but the likelihood that they will believe in it and the loss of potential).

He was cockily chastizing Health Gamer for not being able to silence the mind.

Complusion my ass. Every mind is chaotic and restless unless it is trained for decades in hardcore ways. Expecting normies to have silent minds is absurd.

But I wouldn't tell him that. I would tell him to do hardcore practices rather than weak-sauce ones.

Awakening is in the cards for everyone as long as they are serious enough about it.

He did say a few times you 'stop doing it' using the walking analogy. Silent mind does imply a cessation of something being done. 'Mind diarrhea' was also used. Excessive thinking/worry which is the root of compulsion. And he says that needs to stop. Stop doing it.

It is just that he doesn't make clear the necessary actionable steps to do this.

Thought dis-identification is the beginning - but I think the purpose of the interview was that Dr K wanted to know the mechanisms going on there. As is his bias being a doctor and all

I think users here are underestimating just how bogged down people are in their minds.

You can silence the mind - but it is hard. You effectively have to train it into yourself like a habit with thought-disidentification.

Practice will get you there - but this comes easier to some more than others.

Think 20 years of doing something you are trying to stop. You won't even realise you are doing it. How often do you pick up your phone to read a message and find yourself on Instagram? Habits. Thoughts. Unconscious actions.

I did a few of his programs and they are weak.

Maybe he has better more advanced programs but I don't have the patience to climb his ladders just to find out.

His programs are designed for simpletons.

What are some profound teachings of Sadghuru?

I listened to him for years and loved him, but I now believe he is a total fraud. And when you look at his past, I find him disgusting.

Sadhguru talks about the same things over and over. Just like almost everyone else. It's what they want to talk about.

Many spiritual teachers are like that. Buddha, Jesus, Ramana Maharshi, Nisagardatta, Ramakrishna etc. They are very repetitive, and many of their teachings are simple, given for dummies.

You have only seen his top-of-funnel teachings. I read many interesting reports from people who did his yoga training, it seems he has some sort of Kriya yoga lineage and it's techniques are powerful. Again, many gurus in history only taught their secrets to close disciples.

@Leo Gura Did you try any other yoga programs that are hardcore enough for you?

Are you doing virtue signaling spirituality? The fuck do you expect to happen, 5meo trip during the yoga?

Sounds like a you issue if you don't have the patience to jump through 2 fucking hoops, to at least have a taste of what a great guru has to offer.

When you start new things, have an open mind and 0 opinions, a monk with a stick would do you wonders with the audacity to judge a system you don't even know the outline of.

You can bulshit yourself, but this is all ego, not wanting actual growth. Cling to the trips, bro, you are enlightened!!!!

Monks eat 10x your dose and don't bat an eye, but their method is definitely flawed.

Even on a logical basis, this attitude of yours is laughably unserious.

Not only that he was insulting him like he was dumb for even asking the question. Dr K wanted to get a clear answer and go a bit in depth and he REFUSED. This was the most assholish I have ever seen him and it was an important interview. Sadhguru says he can read someones karma just by looking at them and cant see Dr K wants to help people spiritually? He was talking to Dr K like he being disingenuous. This not only turns off 3 Million people specifically gamers who can use it the most and Dr K himself. Thats 3 million people sitting around playing games looking for a community to live in. If anything he says about himself is true then he would know.

It sounded like he was angry at him for no reason. Or he was using the same old answers and cant answer when being asked specifics.

@Natasha Tori Maru Slopiness and mental gymnastics from newbies are expected, but from Leo, the bar is higher, so you'd better expect me to press him on his BS.

@Socrates sure, you do you boo.

But there is a mature and open way of approaching conversation available to you.

And you chose not to take it. Evidenced by phrasing and tone.

It's a discussion, not an emotional dumping ground.

I can believe that, but I don't regard spiritual experiences as understanding anything. No profound teachings? People have all kinds of radical spiritual experiences, but they don't learn anything.
