The modern world is full of shitty people

Maybe I’m just stage blue, but where are all the decent people? I feel like our ancestors lived by principles, values, and honor. What I see being rewarded (over and over again)  is frauds, scammers, and liars. 

 

These are the people everyone looks up to, respects, and wants to be around.

 

I feel stupid like a clown for living true to values. I know that if I were less conscious and less empathetic, I could live a life where I could take advantage of people, lie, and hurt people- and I wouldn’t feel bad about it. I envy people who can do that. 

 

Instead, I am alone most of the time, I can’t relate to other straight guys, and I don’t get laid. My life sucks because I can’t lower myself to their level. 

 

I’m not like Leo; I need people to be happy- I want true friends and a relationship. And, other than that, I want to have lots of money and be successful and respected. I don’t know if I can accomplish my goals because of the blockage caused by my values.

 

Where do I go from here?

You can be successful and keep your values. They can actually set you apart.

I have the ability to manipulate the shit out of people but I won’t do it because I couldn’t live with myself if I did. It wouldn’t be worth it in the end. Betraying yourself isn’t an option, even if it means you sacrifice everything.

Energy doesn't see values. Energy doesn't care who gets in it's way of wrath. It will seem to 'reward' the evil and bad but that's a projection on your part. Life isn't personal and these kinds of issues, queries and concerns will keep coming up for the human that sees life on a personal level. Hurricanes and earthquakes don't care how good or bad the family is whose house it's about to wreck. You will have to use your own imaginary sense making to maneuver this unnatural concern as it's not a part of life's design because there is none. It's all sporadic and free flowing.

Only humans are concerned with these issues, and we feel the brunt of it when life throws at us and shows us who's the boss. We are also life but it's the energy structure that makes up the human that thinks it's separate and falls victim to it's own demise - even though not really, it's illusory. People tend to dismiss these things and then fall into the imaginary trap of self-deception and then ask for help from other self-deceptive humans on how to get out. I see it all the time.

 We've made up stories about high and low conscious beings but life will show us there's no such thing but only in the dream of separation. It stares us in the face all the time but we insist on being humans with a consciousness and try to maneuver this and go against the grain which raises all kinds of issues and concerns like this one. Only way out is to see it's not personal and there's no driver in the seat. There's actually no way out as a human being. It's stuck in it's own web of deceit. No matter how much that energy tries, it fails every time.

It's good that you have strong values. But it's important to understand that the idea of a past where people had better character, is an illusion.

It's just the Myth of the Golden Age.

We can easily project an ideal version of humanity onto the past that we didn't' personally live in... or perhaps lived in as small children with little awareness of the terribleness of the world at the time.

And this gives the illusion that society is somehow "fallen" from the grace of the past. 

But that isn't true. Humans have always been human... and deeply flawed.

And unfortunately, if we fall for the notion that "We have fallen from the past Golden Age", we can potentially become susceptible to a lot of reactionary and Fascist rhetoric that says, "We were once great. But we have fallen... because THEY corrupted everything. And now, we are a species of degenerates when we used to be a species of proper men and proper ladies."

So, it's important to recognize that humans are, have been, and will always be a combination of all the best and worst drives.

The modern world is terrible, in my opinion, as well.

Almost every aspect in this society goes against my values and internal inclinations.

If performance and facade are valued in this society, I value authenticity and connection.

If power and status are valued in this society, I value character and hard, dedicated work.

If arrogance and narcissism are valued in this society, I value vulnerability and humbleness.

If mediocrity and conformism are valued in this society, I value individuality, creativity, and courage.

Besides that, I feel like a wild animal stuck in a zoo. I am a highly sensitive individual (which is considered a flaw).

I have a fear of big cities, roads, and cars. I hate it. It feels so psychopathic. I can understand how animals feel when they are forced to be in this artificial environment.

Yes there has always been terrible ppl, unkind ppl, egoic ppl, but they were limited in what they could do, they could only affect a small amount of ppl, but with technology today crazy ppl can affect allot more, the individual today is more empowered than ever before, a person can ruin you just via online stuff alone, the world is more crazy today then ever IMO...

Exactly, I think that the internet has very good and positive potential and benefits, like more access to high-quality information (which was gatekept by the minority elites for the majority of human history), and it is a perfect platform to build high-quality businesses and share one’s gifts, wisdom, and art. Unfortunately, it is not used by humanity rationally and intelligently enough.
Mostly, it is used as entertainment, or as a way to receive attention, or to fulfill low-conscious selfish needs.
