First off, the sex worker will charge more because the sex worker is risking more... legally, psychologically, and safety-wise. The juice has to be worth the squeeze form the supply side of the bargain.

But also, from the demand side, sex is more in demand and valued than cleaning is... and it's harder to come by for men.

In some ways, seeing an escort is the polar opposite of doing pickup in your early 20s.

In your 20s, you probably don't have much money or social status. Pickup therefore forces you to win on sheer personality and logistics handling. This actually can add to the appeal of doing it. You feel like she's into you for YOU, not just because you pay her rent.

Seeing an escort is the reverse. Your personality is irrelevant. You don't have to solve any logistical problems at all. You just flash some cash and that's enough. You as a person are barely in the equation. It's anti-game.
