It doesn't seem possible to overthrow the Iranian regime, so is nuclear fear really the reason for the war? Netanyahu says they will be one month away from having the bomb for 25 years. It's strange, they will reinforce the regime with this action

I don't know why people are being so naive about this.

Trump is in office, Trump is literally a one time opportunity for Israel given that for some reason he will literally suck Netenyahus dick if he has to, so obviously Israel will use this time to take out their nr. 1 enemy.

There probably will never be an opportunity like this for them again, and even if Iran did not have any nuclear weaposn almost ready to be deployed, it's not like that's the only reason why Iran is such a threat to Israel.

Iran has been destabilizing the region and is the last actor that is a genuine security risk to Israel, taking them out just makes sense from their perspective.

 

And secretly, most actors in the region will support this move. They don't like Iran, they don't want them to ever have nuclear weapns, and they probably won't mind if the regime collapses or if the entire country becomes a failed state.

This may all be true but this “opportunity” may be so divisive even for republicans. Is it America first or Israel first? For Europe and US relations. And so on that it might not be worth it. Because even regime change is only a roll of the dice. I think Iran will get nukes either way sooner or later.

What is this naive thinking? Trump doesn't give a shit about america, he doesn't give a shit about MAGA, he is scamming them as we speak openly and blatantly. The guy will be out of the office in a few years, and in fact if he does start a war he might entrench himself as a dictator.

Either way, he will do what Israel wants him to do. And they want to see Iran weakened or destroyed, which is exactly what is about to happen.

Israel has nukes because it built them before anyone could stop them, and they were smart enough not to threaten to use them to destroy others as soon as they got them repeatedly.

In the US the president operates within a system built to platform elite interest and preserve elite continuity - rather than disrupt elite interests or check their excessess.

That’s what people mean by the deep state - a system behind the system, made up of deeply entrenched power that outlives any presidential term.

“They” are mainly the financial, corporate, and national security (intelligence agencies + MIC) elite - who influence the state through think tanks, lobbying, and the revolving door.

That’s why socio-cultural policies shift from admin to admin, but policies tied to money and power rarely do - like whether we get sent to die in wars or whether we can afford groceries.

In general:

The US political system is a pay to play whorehouse of elite interests where capital controls the state. Its the only fans of empire where powers bought and where the house is fragmented amongst elite factions.

In the Chinese political system you have to play well enough to be chosen to govern the house - where the state controls capital. Its the arranged marriage of empire where powers managed and the house remains in order.
