Yes, modern sports are already unfair and focus too much on physicality.

But also, before puberty, sports are more fair.

Someone should craft a new sport that combines the hits of football, sprints of basketball, the grace of golf, etc.

A meta sport with more defined, diverse roles, teams, goal, etc.

Go craft it for yourself. Maybe it’s a nice lesson for you to understand how to create popular things.

If you want to make sports truly fair you gotta give everyone handicaps based on hormone levels and physical size.

How it is fair to play basketball against Shaq? It's a cruel joke.

Don’t forget to adjust handicaps based on: „support of parents, teachers, friends, availability of fitness resources, IQ, trauma, neurodivergence, genes that code for motivation and discipline and more factors, yet to be found significant..“

Would you watch a sport where identical clones fight each other? Would you want to compete against a clone of yourself? That would be the most boring sport ever. Fairness in sports is not about equality but agreement.

What?? That would be AMAZING. Take my money.

And by the way, my comment was 100% rage bait and provocative to show how unfair sport is and will always be.

That differences are unfair on a moral level does not compute in sports. There is no play without differences. The very reason you want for winning is that you were intrinsically different from the opponents.

Nobody really cares about absolute fairness. The drama would get lost in fairness. People want drama not fairness.

I'd still die to fight or play against my identical twin. There would be asymmetries nonetheless.

There's no play without differences, but also, there's no play with overwhelming differences. It would be no fun to watch a human vs a Gorilla, the fight would be over in seconds. Therefore, competition is based on the balances between differences -- which is NOT to say there are two identical clones fighthing each other. It needs to be somewhat balanced, but still different.

Which is why "sports will never not be unfair" or trying to make the differences as small as possible is a moot point. All that matters in the end is agreement on what differences are OK (which generally leads to a balanced outcome).
