@Leo Gura Your blog post about Awakening & Meditation was a good one.

You say meditation is like being brain dead and being 100% present. Any thought is a distraction from presence.

I just wondered what role contemplation plays in understanding God? Isn’t contemplation the main method for realizing God and Truth? Contemplation is simply direct questioning of the present moment to derive insight, understanding,  and truth. 

Meditation is thoughtless and there is nothing intelligent about that. I meditated for 5 hours straight of breath-awareness and got nothing out of it. My mind naturally loves to contemplate, so I think contemplation for me is the best tool. That’s why I resonate with Peter Ralston because he teaches contemplation as the main path to awakening.

I think meditation can be good, but long-term meditation I think has its consequences. There is a certain limit where meditation stops benefitting you, and contemplation typically is a much more in-depth process.

I think balancing concentration meditation and contemplation meditation might be the best practice. Contemplation I think yields greater insight and clarity than meditation, whereas meditation I think does better with developing discipline, concentration, equanimity, and tranquility. 

Like when you are bored out of your mind from meditating, that is a great opportunity to start contemplating boredom.

Is contemplation a distraction from God?

I don’t think it’s possible to realize God from meditation alone of purely strict meditation. I think contemplation is definitely needed along with psychedelics.

Think of meditation while on a psychedelic not as thoughtless, but as present-fullness

@Leo Gura For the What is Politics video, the guy has other videos explaining how he categorizes what historically left and right means. I don’t think he is actually confusing or calling the right evil and left good. He admits in the video that he’s unsure which system is better but he asserts that the authoritarian one ends up with the powerful giving themselves the most advantages because of human nature.

you say that if it takes a lot of education to know what left means then it already failed to scale, but you personally have defended and put light on what a true right/conservatism means, and called some of Trump and Jordan Peterson’s actions un-conservative in the same way. I think this is the same case for what this guy is doing.

How does Kriya Yoga cause a realization of God if it's a bunch of visualization techniques? I know it does but it's very thought heavy.

No, it is not thought heavy. It builds concentration. Yoga requires sitting in presence. It also rewiring the brain physically.

@Leo Gura I read the blog post and yeah, I agree with you that is a cope and dishonest to say excessive liberalism is right wing. For example, I belived for a long time decriminalisation of drugs was the way to go, and I had other liberal postion on diffrent topics, but I saw videos you posted, and also my own experience and research that these polices did not make the society better, often the opposite happend . For example, I never belived in abolish police or defund. never took it serous, but I never took it serous other people on my side did, probally because Im voting the labour part(norway) always have. But, yeah, when you say leftism do you mean people like labour or progressives? would you classify the civil rights movement as a form of leftism, because god know conservaties hated it, basically they hate all change but soceity did not crash because black people became a bit more equal in America, so i think you went a bit overboard there, or maybe I read you wrong. lol

He’s saying it is “Right wing-thinking” maybe not in this video but in others older ones that he has created as a chain, thats why I linked one of them. Saying he actually means it’s right wing is a bad representation of this guy. You are assuming he doesn’t understand that woke is an ill branch of left wing just as MAGA is an ill branch of right wing, but it’s not the case.

I disagree. He is precisely blaming the left's problems on the right. Like Marxists do with the failure of Communism.

There is an attempt to disown the bad consequences of leftism by saying it's not the true left.

"Why Doesn't God Help Everyone?" was beautiful.

It nicely explains why the survival of religions limits or corrupts their understanding of God and was never about God favoring them or them believing to be the most truthful.

Contemplation. Sometimes Raslton sound a bit like Gura. In the end some parts of the Contemplation process will be similar because at least for me they  are check points.
