@RisingLane I'm looking foward to watching this too. :)

It’s different from the first two—has a darker vibe. Enjoy!

Seen it 3 or 4 times gets better each time. So much to chew on it is deliciously well made and super profound.

@Cireeric, gotta say, Mads Mikkelsen is a great actor and charming as hell.

I loved how authentic he was when playing the Hannibal character.

I met Mads at Tokyo Comic Con he is an awesome down to earth, humble guy and super insightful. Brilliant actor.

If you're a Nicolas Cage fan, you might like "Dream Scenario" and "Joe"—though the latter gets pretty bleak.

Speaking of bleak, "Eden Lake" was the darkest film I saw this year. Definitely check it out if you're up for something intense, but consider yourself warned.

I also dove into Todd Solondz's films this year, and they're definitely not sunshine and rainbows either.

My favorite movie of the year is "Eddington":

Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing actor, one of my favorites! He was fantastic in "Beau is Afraid," another Ari Aster film. It's a shame that "Eddington" and "Beau is Afraid" didn't get more recognition.

Together (2025) is pretty much Solipsism: The Movie.

I watched this the other night, was really good. Flips back and forth from past and future, keeps things interesting and mysterious.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance ~ of a unified mystery...

The Life of Chuck is a surprisingly good film. If you’re looking for a life-affirming movie to close out the year, this one’s worth checking out.

I was expecting a more impactful ending, but it’s still worth watching. Beginning with act three is an interesting choice—it felt like a setup for a more emotional climax, but it still worked well.

I didn’t expect Final Destination: Bloodlines to be so entertaining, but it was hilarious!

I’ve only seen the first movie in the series before, and honestly, I think Bloodlines was better.

If you’re in the mood for a less uplifting film to end the year, this is the one to watch.

I love how it dives into themes of determinism, causality, and predestination—it’s right up my alley ;)

Anyone seen 'The Substance'?

Body horror.

Went too long, but well done. But also 🤢🤮

Yeah, that movie is wild.

I really think Demi Moore deserved an Oscar for it.

Yeah, she was outstanding.

In particular the scene where she repeatedly returned to the mirror to adjust some part of her appearance (for the date when she was in her aged body). The obsessive compulsive outfit and makeup adjustment really captured the revulsion and self hate one can have for their appearance. The constant returning to adjust something due to dissatisfaction.

I've actually done exactly that in the past! Just got over it and smeared makeup all over the place and wrecked my hair to spite it all.

I also thought they did the visceral extreme closeups and sound detail so well. Cringe and nails on chalkboards feelings of revolsion at eating sounds 🤢🤮
