  1. Why does every topic need to be mental masturbation and bickery, coated as non-dual debates? This is the Health & Fitness sub-forum, not the spiritual one. In regards to the topic, I agree with health being one of the most foundational aspects for life. I'd say the majority of us have latent inflammation and damage in our bodies that haven't been healed. Focusing on health 100% would be providing the body with the necessary resources to heal itself. A balanced diet free of processed stuff, combined with supplementation to correct clinical and subclinical deficiencies - eventually reaching optimal levels wherever possible. Throw heavy metal chelation into the mix as well. Other clichés such as exercise, socialization, stress and emotional management, therapy like IFS, meditation etc. This can free you of visits to the doctor into your elderly years (besides regular checkups or physical trauma), potentially for life. The pharmaceutical and the food industry are inherently business entities, and have joint financial interests so take stuff from them with a heavy grain of salt. Some people like Brian Johnson thrive on such over-optimization, but in my perspective others can thrive better on balance especially once their bodies are healed and robust.
  2. Noam Chomsky has some valuable lectures available on youtube like this - Noam Chomsky: Israel and Palestine (Full Lecture) Ron Unz has a shitton of great material written about many controversial topics including this one - you can read them here Even if one does not agree with some of the content or the presentation at the website linked above (it's very lightly moderated), it is a treasure hub for valuable resources of various less-known authors and perspectives.
  3. Looks like Israel put the recently redirected shipment of 20,000 missiles (that was initially meant for Ukraine) to use.
  4. Interesting, I noticed the same! Yeah probably 90+% of people are deficient, but not because of malabsorption or gut issues. There's barely any vitamin D to be found in dietary sources, used to be more in the past. Even the RDA of 600 IU is not enough to reach sufficiency of 30+ ng/mL for the majority of people. The only reliable sources are UVB Sunlight, and supplements unfortunately. I'd say 4-5,000 IU is the minimum every adult should take daily, regardless of sun exposure. Except, I found an article that discusses gene-modified (CRISPER) tomato leaves providing 8,000 IU of vitamin D per gram!
  5. Canada has been suffering from large-scale wildfires since Mid-May, which are still on-going. According to the news, 33000+ people had to have been evacuated from their homes. According to the latest reports, the vegetation of roughly 19,900 km2 area has been consumed, which is about the size of the country of Slovenia. The consequential smoke that was created sunk south to the US, degrading the air quality on the eastern half. New York, for example. Furthermore the smoke travelled above the Atlantic, up to Europe. It was observed even above Greece, as the most eastern location of the smoke so far. Even though the air quality is mostly unaffected in Europe since the fumes are so high in the atmosphere, the fact it reached Europe is very much telling of the impact this wildfire has. You can track the wildfire activity at this interactive map. The spread of the smoke can be seen on this map. It was most likely human-produced, but magnified beyond words due to the current atmospheric conditions. God be with the victims and those affected.
  6. Astounding documentary, for free! Thank you for sharing, I'll be watching the others too! I agree that spiritual passivity may no longer be enough to provide a brighter future for us all, we need to act! However the sociostructural and physical resources most of these mega-scale technological projects require to reach the efficacy needed to be able to buy enough time for us to find a sustainable solution moving us away from societal collapse, would require unseen levels of global cooperation. Maybe China can do it? At least he awareness is spreading, and there are very positive trends like the Great Green Wall project. I recently had a 'we are ultimately doomed, no matter what we do' phase, however the pain that comes with the increased awareness due to my research, is accompanied with the increased desire to act and do what I can where I can. This video played a role in this, thank you!
  7. I have yet to watch the video, but I would like to share some initial thoughts in regards to the statement of exercise being the primary way to lose weight and be healthy. It's a noble, but partial truth. Exercise is undoubtedly a great way to do this, to achieve optimal mental and physical health, it's ingrained into our bodies since prehistoric times. Everyone should do it one way or another. However it's not the only healthy piece in the puzzle, at least what we have access to. Not all of us have the same drives and level of motivations to do this. Furthermore we all know people directly or indirectly that lose fat and gain muscle at different rates, even if they follow largely the same protocols. Turns out, vitamin D helps with this too! It helped people since time immemorial, thanks to the quintessential contribution of the Sun. Based on the research, vitamin D not only benefits but even determines the weight loss. Influencing fat storage mechanisms, serotonin levels (controlling appetite) and boosting testosterone (increasing drive to move as well as helping with burning fat). Once you include necessary vitamin D cofactors such as Magnesium and Omega-3 (which can help with weight loss by themselves - let alone synergistically), the effect becomes even greater. It's not a sacrificial cheat code like steroids, but I believe it lays the groundwork for optimal efficiency and thriving. It can even help obese people that are struggling to go and exercise, and to lose weight. Here are summary articles of vitamin D's relationship with weight loss and muscle. If you are lazy, here are Perplexity's summaries about these sites (weight loss and muscle). It also is the key component in terms of bone health since it greatly improves calcium absorption and metabolism. My personal experience (I take other stuff on top of the aforementioned cofactors) is that beyond the improved mental health, I experience increased grip and muscle strength without exercise. Lifting stuff that was painful in the past now feels like a breeze, being joint-pain-free helps a lot too. I have a feeling my bone density increased as well, but I need a DEXA scan to validate it. Increased stamina is great too! Hell, whichever sports team discovers the wonders of vitamin D (unless elite athletes use it already), could almost be considered cheating without context. The biggest punchline of the story is that vitamin D is chemically considered to be a secosteroid hormone, barely different from testosterone and the likes.
  8. Do you have lab measurements that showed actual deficiencies? Do you follow any restrictive diet like a vegan one? Do you experience any benefit besides these symptoms, upon taking this multivitamin? Lots of the ingredients are beneficial, but some may be only required in certain situations, and cause harm in others. There are multiple potential culprits, but it may take a while to find it. Vitamin Bs (B6/B12/Niacin), supplemental C&Iron interaction, zinc&copper interaction, and more. I experienced pins & needles in my hands and feet when I was taking a B-complex, as well as rare heart palpitations (but no chest pain). They subsided in a few days after I stopped. I'd just give this one up and focus on more important supplements. Vitamin D - you may benefit from a higher dose, Magnesium, Omega-3, K2 and whatever you can't properly get from your diet or food in general. My two cents.

  10. I don't necessarily favor multivitamins, because the many different compounds fit together (that usually don't exist combined so tightly in nature) can cause unforeseen reactions in your body (no matter how much workaround the manufacturer is trying to do). Different compounds can also compete with each other in different ratios, making you lose a substantial part of it during metabolism. Do you take them on an empty stomach? That can potentially explain the chest pain, but can also be different things. Have you also tried different brands?
  11. As said before in the thread, cholesterol seems play a crucial role in different bodily processes. Vitamin D Synthesis, Bile Acid production (digestion of fat and fat-soluble vitamins like A,D,K,E), Cell membrane integrity and cell signaling, as well as nerve function. Correspondingly, a cholesterol level below the normal range seems to come with numerous risks related to brain and mental health, even an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in the brain). Here is Gemini's assessment on the topic. Here is also an overview of the relationship between cholesterol and (not only) vitamin D, including numerous studies referenced.
  12. I'd be cautious to take zinc&copper complexes, as zinc can inhibit the absorption of copper. Manufacturers have tried different workarounds, here is Gemini's current assessment. Just to be on the safe side, I'd take them separately, alternating between them 12 hours or every other day. I'm sorry to hear you have hashimoto's, but there seems to be workarounds other than zinc&copper. Here is an overview in regards to vitamin D
  13. I am not sure if I have any zinc-specific benefit I experience, but I also take D3,K2,Magnesium,Omega 3,C,Copper,Boron,Iodine&Selen. I know that zinc is greatly beneficial on its' own, furthermore synergistic with vitamin D. https://vitamindwiki.com/Zinc+and+Vitamin+D My immunity is off the charts in comparison, but that also is related to high D3 levels. I was barely sick for a day this year, at the time others got such heavy cases of flu that some were almost bed-ridden for days or even weeks. Nothing was said about this flu in the news or the local government, which is interesting.
  14. It's a high dose, pontentially not risky, but you are likely to be fine with half as much. A blood test can tell where you are at currently. According to NIH (National Institutes of Health), the higher limit is 40mg per day. Interestingly, I also take as much in the form of Picolinate (50mg per capsule per day, even the bottle says as much). I will also experiment with halving the dose, to see if anything happens on my side. What you should be concerned about is excessive zinc's inhibitory effects on copper. It can increase the rate at which copper is removed from the body, also decrease the amount it is absorbed. Copper deficiency is a bitch - anemia, worse and less white blood cells, decreased immunity, potential osteoporosis and neuropathy (masking B12 deficiency symptoms, can be misdiagnosed).
  15. COVID Vaccine “Safe and Effective” Narrative Collapses on Camera I've had my suspicions for a while, but it still makes my stomach twist. Here is also a collaborative post-vaccine recovery protocol (that prioritizes and aids natural immunity) to aid healthcare professionals dealing with patients suffering from long-covid. It is intended for healthcare professionals, but some first-line therapies can be embarked on solo responsibly (at least in the suggested doses). It has a robust scientific background in terms of hundreds of references.
