And a coke rage can be easily mistaken for a violent breakdown on shrooms. ;) At this point there are only assumptions. But logic tells me that this was not caused by mushrooms alone. I can't possibly envision a steroid using person who injects drugs every week, and runs the business he runs to just say one day ''today i will only do a mushrooms trip to explore my consciousness'' lol.

I've met tons of people who use psychedelics and almost none use it to explore consciousness. I've had friends who go on coke benders every week that do mushrooms too. Most people who do psychedelics are NOT doing it to explore consciousness.

And that's not to diminish psychedelics. These people are immature and they lack proper intention, set, and setting.  But you are mistaken if you think most people who take psychedelics are doing it for consciousness exploration. I wish that was true though.

  2. @kieranperez Learn and use You Need a Budget software. It's more than just a tracking app. When use properly it will transform the way you look at money - https://www.youneedabudget.com/

It can be overwhelming at first. So don't give up. Spend a few hours watching youtube videos and reading materials. It's a small investment to learn how to manage your money better than 99% of people.  Using this app has radically transformed my personal finance habits.

Don't like this idea of going somewhere in order to be spiritual

I see this with many SD green folk. They think they have to sign up for a spiritual retreat, travel to india, be part of a new age commune etc. in order to be spiritual. But that is the opposite of what Spirituality is. You are making a distinction between a retreat and your home, which is not very spiritual. Turn your place into a retreat, that would be my recommendation

I mean if it was something like a dark room retreat, where you would need help from an outsider, alright. But with a normal meditation retreat, I don't see the point. Although probably still a cool experience

this logic does not play out in reality. It's very difficult to coordinate a solo retreat. It makes more sense to go do a group silent retreat

I have studied with Lama Lena, and I would recommend her as a teacher.  She is very knowledgeable, open, and giving.  She has been conducting online teachings and retreats during the pandemic, and she has many public teachings available on YouTube.  She teaches Dzogchen, Mahamudra, and some Tantra sadhanas.

what's your experience with Mahamudra? I've heard a lot of good things about it. I've look at doing a retreat with dan brown

    At the moment:

    • 2 hours of meditation (resting in silence / self inquiry) daily
    • Gratitude, prayer, self love, contemplation (morphing into each other)
    • A few kriyas, but not a full routine, just ~10-20 minutes
    • Wim Hof + Alternate nostril breathing
    • Journaling, mostly by speaking out loud
    • IFS therapy (reading about it + implementing self-therapy sessions)
    • Self massage / myofascia work
    • Semen retention (despite having relapsed, back at it)
    • Guided meditations / poetry
    • Deep sharing and opening up in a spiritually/love imbued social group

How do you have time to work..
