Also, the highlighting of the vanishing point to set off the planes and horizon/fields gives it that movement and flow ! Posted September 21 Utah juniper, I gifted this one, had to rush the tree. Shouldn't have picked vivid green and yellow for leaves. It had to be olive green and white. Could repaint but I just didn't care this time, guess grew too old for this, maybe people will like it for it's mistakes. Which is really hard to notice. For shadows I switched to blue&brown and sometimes purple. I know sounds weird but I like it. I mean each color is a shadow, we just see lighter color and say that is the source of light ! I still enjoy the challenge of black 🖤 My paintings: Instagram.com/meontrema

Posted September 28 @Sucuk Ekmek Absolutely! Mastering the use of black came later in my work. I found it very difficult to work with as I needed a light touch. Which, incidentally, is rather like moderating this forum It is a shame images cannot capture the textures in our works Quote For shadows I switched to blue&brown and sometimes purple. I know sounds weird but I like it. I mean each color is a shadow, we just see lighter color and say that is the source of light ! Same! I remember learning this from my grandfather. You learn all the tricks the brain plays with the visual field - and how to work with them to render light, shade etc. I love how being an artist or creator forces us to deconstruct the appearance of everything Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Posted September 28 I've been a bit busy working 6/7 day weeks so haven't had time to paint - here are some sketch exercises to experiment with form and motion. Might use one as the base for a proper work later: Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.
