bruh how do people be having awakenings while sober, what kinda practices do you do? I do 40 - 80 minutes of meditation, I feel like this is pathetically insufficient.

I can give you a guide on how to awaken sober. It can get very uncomfortable because you can merge with others....while still retaining your identity or memory of yourself as a human. Think of your consciousness merging with someone where their breath becomes your breath and their body is recognized as your body...while still retaining your memory of your ego....its highly uncomfortable.

I've conditioned myself to be able to do it more than once, but recently my ego has taken back control and judges the hell out of it. You can do it so easily that when someone eats food around you, you can experience the full sensation of eating that food as them without losing identification with your human body.

I believe this awareness can be trained further but for now that is the level sober that I am at. I have no clue what would happen if I started taking the classic psychedelics at this stage.

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

@Razard86 As cool as that sounds, I'm pretty skeptical of the idea that it's possible to know that another person can achieve the same states that you can. For me it'd probably be about as effective as Leo's guided exercises video for realizing you are God. Even on LSD I had no such awakening.

But yeah if you have steps I can follow to evoke this awakening I'd go for it.

Self inquiry.  Do nothing meditation.   Concentration meditation.  I did it for two weeks.  But I was 48.  You are what 25?  There is a lifetime of experience and suffering that accompanied those two weeks.  There was also love.

To be on your own, with no direction home, a complete unknown.

Like a rolling stone.

Just so You know, the state has faded quite a lot already. I don't recognize Myself "by default" and I'm not Unconditionally Loving anymore.

It's still nice tho.

I love it. ?

No, as I mentioned in the post above. But my baseline is higher now.

Right now I'm distracted. And studying for an exam.

Who the hell knows. You tell me. It depends on how much You want it, how much work You put in, etc.

Sometimes putting in no work yields the greatest results

Yeah, yeah. That's terrific advice. But actually effortlessness and "no work" comes after a ton of crying, suffering, focus, contemplation and all that. Which is "work".

Also, quit it with your trolling posts please.

Yeah haha.

Actually awakening has helped me a lot with my exams last week. I was studying with super speed and efficiency. My mind was like 3x clearer.

Also I had one oral exam. I sat in front of the lecturer with complete fucking peace and my mind incredibly clear. Deep eye contact. Answered a few questions with what knowledge I had. I was so calm that this dude thought I knew everything already so he quickly let me go hahaha. It was fucking comical to me.

You bring a valid point. I was crying and suffering a lot recently, which I didn’t think was “work”. Thank you for reminding me of that

@Sincerity Do you meditate regularly too and if you do, how much does it add to your baseline state, compared to the individual awakenings you've had? I'm just interested in how you balance the more constant spiritual work routines with the deeper explorations, which lead you to your awakenings.

I don't have a strict meditation practice. I do it whenever I feel like it. I just sit on the floor and observe consciousness when I get an urge. Or suddenly look at my hand and start focusing on experience.

Hard to say how much it adds to my baseline. I certainly get more conscious when I do it.

I don't have an every day spiritual work routine per se. But I'm trying to be conscious during the day and when some negativity arises for example, I'm melting it by accepting it for what it is and being present. So whenever I get brought down a bit or my state is weird somehow I take the time to stop and observe it. Basically my everyday goal is to love the NOW as much as I can.

One routine I have though is going out for coffee about 3 times per week and contemplating there for hours. By contemplating I mean introspecting and deepening my understanding BUT also simply looking at experience and meditating, basically. These coffees have been INCREDIBLY beneficial to me in the last 2,5 months. And over the last 2 weeks after the initial awakening I've been awakening further and further during these sessions. I was observing what is and crying. Recognizing what I am and literally sobbing in public lol. So that's that.

If You're interested in more info I added many more posts to this thread, like this one:

Do you ever have experiences where part of, or your entire body starts shaking? That happened to me a few nights ago while lying down in bed, the lower half of my body started involuntarily shaking

@Yimpa It might be the trauma release mechanism of your body. You can actually observe this with animals like polar bears:

I think that trauma is energy that has been trapped within the body and when it gets released it can manifest in your entire body shaking (because all of that energy now has to go somewhere). I can actually induce that state at will, which is great because I've been able to release a lot of emotions that way. Just give your body full control and let it do what it wants to do! Yoga and exercise also help a lot.
