@Windappreciator  So? Do you know what also increases dopamine release?

Dopamine is not bad. You cannot detox dopamine as it is synthesized in neurons and controlled tightly. It is a good thing you can't detox dopamine or else you would have Parkinson's.

Better to accept when you are wrong.

Don't dive into these tangent rationalizations that miss the point, just to keep yourself alive.

As far as I know DMSA does not enter organs and cells, so you wont detox the brain with it. It is only a extracellular chelator.

That's why it's combined with ALA.

DMSA doesn't cross the blood brain barrier but that doesn't mean it doesn't work on all the other organs. The brain is not the only thing at stake here.

And btw, provocation tests can lead to major redistribution events in highly toxic individuals. I would highly advise against doing them. It induced some considerable adverse reactions in some.

It can, but it's not like these tests are done often. And after the test you continue with detox.

Testing is important to get a picture of your progress. Otherwise you are blind.

Xray and MRI are also not good for you, but it's outweighed by having a clear picture of your condition so you can cure it.

I do an MRI regularly 2 times/year. Is it something that should be avoided? What are the risks? I thought it was safe or at least a 100 times safer than x-rays. Is the contrast fluid which is dangerous?

I agree with @Twega, there is no such thing as dopamine detox or a low-dopamine diet, there is no dopamine in food. In fact destruction of Substantia Nigra, the core dopaminergic centre is associated with Parkinson's (as he said above). What you want to do is to rewire your addictive patterns in certain areas of your brain such as anterior cingulate cortex and that can only come through deliberate avoidance of the stimulus in the first place, e.g. staying away from phone, avoiding junk food, not watching porn etc. There is no easy way to do that and a hard stop and willpower are the only way to push through an addiction. That and a lot of habit rewiring and shadow work ofcourse. But the notion of "dopamine detox" is kinda inaccurate, dopamine is not your enemy, if we didn't have it society would have died out thousands of years ago./

@Michael569

You are right there is no dopamine in food.

Although you will have lower dopamine releases and therefore more joy from little stimulations if you exclude dopamine releasing fuels like sugars and junk food, cocoa etc.

You will also become less egoic and more grounded.

At least, that's the theory.
