what ego traps have you fallen in to?

15 posts in this topic

I have fallen many ego traps along the way of self actualization and Sprituality, some are good and some are bad. but in the big picture view, they were all perfect as life and lessson also important. I have fallen almost half of the traps listed in the start page of actualized.org ego traps. I went the same Sprituality as Jesus, but later by reading his trap and mistake, I correct it, even though I fallen in to it. I would expect more trap will be out there. what traps have you fallen?

Food, been 100lbs overweight
Sex, lots of porn
Sleep, 12+ hours for months on end
Validation, making an ass out of myself and trying to "dominate" people so others can validate me
Dopamine, playing video games 6+ hours everyday
Anger, saying the worst things to harm people in the way I feel I've been harmed
Materialism, recently unlocked this one due to making more money rofllll
People chasing, being annoying, pestering people, being needy and clingy

In general I am probably the most degenerate, but bad in good and good in bad, I also am the most fastidious learner and I never give up, so how I do egotism and degeneracy I also do learning, self improvement and self awareness so it all worked out lmao!

my ego traps are

trying to be someone like Jesus, osho etc. especially after I start to cast out demons and start healing. even though I understood I am the son of God, I create a mental negative identification to become a Messiah like Jesus.

Misunderstanding life is nothing. I misunderstood completely that what nothingness is. I renounce life like a monk, instead of living it with passion, love and others postive qualities. most of us don't understand what nothingness is. nothingness is for the ego not for the higher self. the ego will love to cling to something that, there is important thing out there.

not taking care of myself. not doing everyday life responsibilities. not eating too much, not keeping hygiene, sleeping, obsessed with only Sprituality.

judging and trying to change others. After seeing great changes in me, trying to point people to become like me, not understanding everyone is completely different than me. everyone change itself by its time, desire and need.

almost I can say I fall on to more than half of traps listed out there. I wish Leo make a video about it. it is life saving. even the greatest master have fallen in to it. Jesus, budhaa, osho, Martin Luther King, gandhi all the greatest failed in ego traps. I would consider Leo too, especially suggesting the acceptances of phidophile.

@neutralempty it is not about love or anything. out do God from these. these is about the work of self actualization traps. as successful people pointed out along the way in thier journey, so you could avoid the same mistakes.

@Conscious life Nice thread! It sounds like we share some similar traps.

My traps: arrogance (thinking I know when I've no fucking idea), trying to get others to do self-actualization (this is a time-waster in most cases), boasting about the joys that come out of self-actualization and spiritual work to others who don't want to hear it, and assuming life is meaningless (felt this way when I watched Leo's advanced spiritual videos too early in my development, but luckily broke out of this mindset recently).

Note: For those that are in the "life is meaningless" trap right now, I think a good way to break out of it is to have a love for something (like your life-purpose) that outweighs your fear of an idea (like nihilism).

I love conceptualising, which is a trap for this work. After I watched a bunch of Leo's videos, I started creating Leoism (this was few months ago), beacause of his huge influence in my life. It was so hard to break out of it. So beware of your constructed beliefs.

Everything can be a trap. My current trap is reading/watching too much self help. At one point, I was reading 16 hours daily (Was jobless).

my traps are equal to my success. it is shame and laughable when I see myself doing stupid stuff, but also that is how you learn. everyone will be deluded. studying other people wrong turn and mistake is valuable. it is civilization saving. sometimes I went out from my orbit of rotation. because this self actualization process is a new thing to humanity most people go by brute force. I was studying successful people bio. Bill Gates said "he didn't live" he was only obssesed with computer and have no social life. that makes him regret.

@Sucuk Ekmek knowing what?

The way I get my knowledge. I need to be picky. I trick myself so easy. Thats the trap for me.  Like watching Leo's videos from now on also an ego trap for me. His content is not for me anymore. Watching  him do the work for you is like watching quality porn.
