'Be in the present' is a bad advice?

Is it a good advice or bad advice?  What is 'being in the present' actually is?

Being in the now in the sense of not having much thoughts about the past it the future.

@An young being recognize that thoughts of the past, or thoughts of the future, are occurring now.  The trick is to not identify as these thoughts.

No teachings are above another. The present moment is a powerful pointer, but it can at times become a block or cutting off of oneself. There is no present moment, so therefore no real disconnection from past or future, even though there's no past or future either. That's not Eckhart Tolle's fault or anyone else's. It's not your fault. You go with what you got, you fall, you mess up, reevaluate, and you get up and keep going. All language is both deceptive and guiding. It's inevitable, and part of the fun.

No, he's saying that you already are in the present and you just have to notice that.

He's saying the same thing as Eckhart Tolle, just different phrasing and choice of words.

Still doesn't matter. Desire precedes all teachings. If you truly desire something, it will be regardless of the labels you may put on it.
