Is it justified? I would say No
a human life is not more worthy than an animal life.

The majority vote of humanity says otherwise. Welcome to democratic morality.

However. If we zoom out far enough - No life, rock, or cloud of gas is worth more than another life, rock, or cloud of gas.

Things simply are what they are.

Yeah? I dare you to have the balls to hold on to that position when it is YOUR time to decide between a human child life and a gorilla's life.

Good luck explaining it to the whole world.

Also, would you hold that position if it were your child?

@Recursoinominado yeah that's the real challenge. I am talking from a perfectionist position but I know I may not be able to hold that position if it was my kid.

It's not justified from some objective impartial POV. But we do it for our own survival.
