What is heaven/paradise?

45 posts in this topic

All the religions talk about it, Islam, Christianity etc. But what exactly is heaven or paradise? and why is it called that way?

Turn around in a circle. See how your visual field just moved across your consciousness, but you were always facing out, not back? Back is towards heaven. Unbelievably crudely put.

No self.

@James123 Have you experienced heaven yourself?

It is the moment. When there is no self, you are the experience itself.

A fantasy.

@Someone here Why that? The religions surely tried to point towards something.

Yes to a fantasy.

Why?  Because the human self wishes to live in a perfect reality that fits all It's desires but this wish clashes so bad with the actual reality that just happens to be a pain in the ass for the most part.. So no other solutions than to run into la la land.

@Someone here To say that religions are pointing to a fantasy is really ignorant. There surely has to be something magnificent to discover(heaven/paradise/truth). Otherwise why would awakened beings like Rumi or Eckart Tolle for example describe it as eternal joy, love, unconditional happiness etc. If someone isn't deluded then its definitetly an enlightened being/master.

@actualizing25 you can't have unconditional condition.

Nothing is eternal.  Anything that begins must die eventually .

Eternal joy?  Lol let that shit go.

The realization that everything is Eternal, that death is imaginary, and that there is no difference between anything (Infinite Love).

God-consciousness is heaven. God is heaven. Love is heaven.

Infinite Love Forever.

Complete realization of yourself as God.

Infinite Consciousness.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Merging with the Absolute.

The absolute is all that exists . Can't merge with myself cuz I already am myself.

dissolution of all seperations

If that happend I couldn't be here obviously.. And If that's what you think enlightenment is then no human alive is enlightened.

It's not the case to those who aren't conscious of it -- which is almost everyone.

You are being far too flippant and pedantic. As if the whole world is conscious.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Everyone will go to heaven,

But there is more than one heaven.

I know.  Which is why there is no alternative.. If you become "totally" conscious of it I guess you literally die.. Can't function without duality.. Nothing could even exist without duality (or without you imagining that there is duality at least). In that case If you define heaven as that then it literally means the end of experience once and for all annihilation forever. And that's what Buddhism defines nirvana as btw.
