Does having a life purpose jive with being a buda

16 posts in this topic

Buda doesn’t have an ego so when you become one, it seems having a life purpose doesn’t jive that. Having a life purpose entails having egoistic ideals. I’m I missing something here?

Does drinking water jive with staying alive?

Is that a rhetorical question or do you want a serious answer?

It's as accurate as an analogy can get.

Your analogy doesn’t fit.

@StarStruck Perhaps if you change your maps, it will.

Boom.

The analogy fits. When you can understand how, then you’ll have an answer to your question.

It can also be expanded to include the possibility of various degrees of drinking, for example: does suffocating oneself with water jive with staying alive? And the answer is, obviously, yes.

It's about conscious balance.

That is what I thought but if that is thé case why half ass it?  If you don’t half ass it you wouldn’t fear to die and die soon after by car crash or something.

No one is “being a Buddha”. It means enlightened, one knowing the truth of one’s self as infinite being. One who doesn’t know could do just about anything they want life purpose wise, and so could one who does know. One can marry one or many perspectives however, which appear to limit what one can do.

The Buddha was a Bodhisattva, who's life purpose was to awaken mankind.

What you're missing is that a life purpose doesn't have to come from ego, it can come from God. And anyways, all ego is just a limited expression of God. So even if an LP is coming from ego, it's still seeking God, however imperfectly.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura ok. I get it now. Is it right to say that life purpose isn’t a choice but a discovery?
