It's more paradoxical and nuanced than that. You desire something, but you let go of it, and when you do it has a chance to come to you. The universe wants to surprise us. We think we know what we want but we only ever have glimpses, if we could design the perfect partner we would be horribly bored by them. So you can't ever get what you want anyway, you have to let go of your demands and the specifics so you can know what you want and when you KNOW it you also get it.

Light on Earth The power of love came into me,
and I became fierce like a lion,
then tender like the evening star.” - Rumi

No they cant. Even if you know about the LoA, try as a bum on the street to act like money doesnt matter, or that you have enough of it. Or try being a 35 year old virgin acting like sex doesnt matter and you are a player. To seriously hold these beliefs you would practically have to delude yourself to a degree that you would be certified as insanse.

So what do you want to do about it? Excuse people for their own dysfunction? Being poor doesn't mean you can't use LoA to your advantage and vice versa for being rich. Constantly seeking externally for satisfaction instead of internally will only do so much and not get rid of the root dysfunction. Perhaps those people who think they need those things are the deluded ones? Its up to them to choose how they want to go about it.

You can call reality cruel, whatever. Thats just your ego casting judgment as if it knows best.

Don't be a victim. Take responsibility. If you think this is mental gymnastics then I would advise you to dig deeper into your psyche. It all starts there. But do you want to accept that? To do the work internally instead of the easy external satisfaction?

Actually yes, nobody is responsible for how they grow up or what experiences they make. If you grow up poor nobody can seriously expect you to think like a rich person.

But of course its always the rich who preach that anybody can make it and everyone else is just to lazy.

God is the original capitalist.

read the "conversations with God" books. it's explained quite well there, including metaphysical explanations on it  I haven't seen anywhere else

So what? Sit there and decide to wallow in misery? You aren't responsible for what you experience, but you are responsible for how you react to it. Don't just work from one side of the paradox. Work with both sides.

Whats the goal here? To make yourself feel better about your own misfortunes by applying demonizing words to LoA?

When you will be tired to want something (through suffering), you'll let it go psychologically.
Or you will get it and realize it's not that fulfilling.

In both case you'll let it go, and won't need it anymore.

Then you'll be able to experience that in a healthy (and more beautiful) manner
Because at that point the attachment has been severed.

What life tries to teach you is to let go of what you don't have and enjoy what is there
It's never gonna stop, that's how life is designed.
You're never gonna have more than what you have RIGHT NOW.

You can resist it, but that's only gonna make things worse (for you).

If you want the moon, do not hide from the night
If you want a rose, do not run from the thorns
If you want love, do not hide from yourself

I can see how that would work with things like money or sports cars because its nothing you need on a biological level.

But how do you seriously let go of the need for a partner when it goes to the very core of your biology?

Who told you that ?

And how do you know it's true ?

This is where things get tricky. Yes the more deeply rooted a want or need is, the harder it is to unwire. Food and water is needed for self-sustaining its physical form. However having a partner is not, this is higher up on the surface for generating new forms. The need for a partner becomes less necessary on this path. Because you don't need it to feel happy.

But don't take my word on it. Go find out for yourself. ;)

Every part of us is biology, but fortunately its very very dynamic. Very few things are we stuck with.

@MM1988 Where are you getting the specifics you’re mentioning? What teacher?

It's all about learning to Love. The sooner you learn to love your situation, the sooner your situation will change. You can understand that for yourself by doing some psychedelics. When you are having a bad trip, all you can do is love, and when you love, what you are experiencing changes in front of your eyes. The universe is a love simulation, if you want to move to the next level, love where you are right now, see Leo's video about Love. Acceptance, forgiveness, living in the present are just different ways to express the same idea. You don't lack anything, you just believe you do.

@Brivido Wonderfully said. 🙏🏻 The present is Love, Love is the present. Love never fails.

Meditation is the way.

@Brivido The paradox of that is, that after getting this information the only reason someone wants to love his situation is because he wants it to change, and therefore he cant truly love it.

It's not the present situation that you love

It's the present moment

Because it's the only real thing that exist.

That's why this love must be discovered authentically.

You might be experiencing projection of past & identity onto the teaching. Keep reading though, that is solid material. 😉
