I don't believe anyone is 100% perfect all the time.

90-99% is close to perfection, and it's quite enough, right?

How could one be perfect and be Enlightened?  Do you see the problem with this?

What is that which strives to be perfect?

You guys are attaching a moral expectation to Enlightenment.  This is a very common trap I find.

@Joseph Maynor

So Joseph, you think arguing is healthy?

I say it's not, but that doesn't mean we must eliminate it.

Perhaps the error is necessary.

I don't think becoming perfect could be achieved through striving for perfection. I think it happens naturally with time and conscious observation.

The prudence and utility of arguing depends on the intention and motive of the persons engaging in the specific argument in the specific context.  Yes I do think argument is healthy.  To live is to argue in some sense.  Everything you do can be thought of as an argument on some level.  You're trying to have an influence, to arrive at some destination, to arrive at some conclusion.  That's all argument.  We don't wanna pooh-pooh argument because that's just another argument!  And it's a silly one.

@Joseph Maynor You most certainly are a "legit bot that Leo is exploiting" :P

Or else how would you be able to come up with these brilliant insights?!

Seriously, I've never thought of arguing this way before.

Really, I'm checking with reality right now, and yeah, you're totally right.

"To live is to argue". Great insight!

So, I'd settle for this: argument can be a good pragmatic tool, if used properly.
