I've been working through this book for the past 2 years (I'm almost half way through).

'A Systematic Course in the Ancient Tantric Techniques of Yoga and Kriya'

It's written really well and explains everything in detail. It also contains Asana practice, which I like. Basically Asanas and Pranayama prepare your body for meditation.

It's probably a bit slower in terms of progression compared to the other books mentioned here, but I do like the slower pace and it's good to slowly build towards more advanced practices.

Thanks, I'll research that.

I recently got back into Kriya after taking a few years off, and I've been getting horrible tension headaches. I never used to have this problem when I practiced before.

I've tried relaxing my eyes, making sure I'm not straining them, massaging my temples, jaw, neck, and shoulders, and stretching everything out because I thought it was just tension. I even stopped doing Ujjayi breathing, but the headaches are still there.

I really don't want to stop because I remember how good Kriya made me feel, but these headaches are getting hard to deal with.

Has anyone else gone through this? If so, what helped?

I now sprinkle kriya into my meditation rather than having it as the main practice for this reason. Honestly I think it works just as well that way as when I did a lot of it, seriously I notice all the same benefits. I think headaches mean ur storing a lot of prana in ur third eye which is the point, ur at carrying capacity.
