Ego Is Not The Devil

11 posts in this topic

Ego is the highest form of dual experience in the material world that we are aware of. It's a privilege. It's beautiful. Be grateful, enjoy!

Is it better to be misidentified with a separate individual and have an actual life experience, or not to be any experience at all?

The apparent suffering leads ultimately to a strong self transcendence drive. That's a beatiful mechanism of union.

You can dance, you can sing, you can feel the rain, you can have sex. Damn, even suffering has a certain beauty. It's just a ride, my friends. Let's celebrate!

Obs: I totally get what Leo means in his video about the Devil. That’s totally fine if one has got the spiritual apparatus to deal with that information. The thing is that emphasizing the “problems” of ego, might cause self hatred or even worse issues for a person just starting his / her spiritual journey (been there, done that).

@Cudin

In one of his recent videos Leo suggested a term 'actualized nihilism', so what you're talking about in OP would be a self-realized properly integrated being. There are ways to properly integrate the ego, so it's more of a tool and less of a burden/distraction. Ken Wilber's work in particular comes to mind on the subject, but many other teachers talk about it in different ways too.

Going easy on the ego means you are being tricked by it, which also means you are tricking yourself and this will never destroy the ego completely.

The ego is not to be destroyed. The ego is to be loved.

There is no question that dark forces exists, this forces are within at least 95% of all humans, it's like a devil inside ourselves. If it is the ego or not is not easy to say, but it is the ego which experiences the outside world and reacts. At some point in you spiritual journey if you are sincere, you will have to break the pact your ego has made with you.

@Cudin ego is not bad or good, because it doesn’t exist. That’s the joke. You are no more or less what you are seeing in front of you than you are an ego.

The one who believes it's getting tricked by the ego is also the ego :) That's how tricky the illusion is. Deeper awakening comes when you realize the ego is literally as identical to experience as everything else.

@LaucherJunge who is it that loves the ego?

A healthy integrated physical body+mind guided by consciousness, by love itself.

"You can dance, you can sing, you can feel the rain, you can have sex."

you can do all that without being identified with an illusory self that ultimately is purely conceptual.
