I Don't Care About Anything Anymore

13 posts in this topic

I dropped college today, because I don't think it is right for me in this point in time. I am starting to feel like an alien from everybody. I really don't care about anything anymore. Everything feels meaningless and empty. I wish I could just fall asleep or wake up.

Well if everything wasn't meaningless and empty you couldn't be free to do anything you want. Paradoxically saying "everything feels meaningless and empty" IS MEANING. You create that distinction. Meaningfulness and meaninglessness lay on top of reality which is Absolutely Free. and this is an amazing insight to have, you'll start to see how you are spiraling into infinite meaninglessness, and that shit goes deep. It's infinite. Hopefully this can help you start to wake up and see how free you are, by taking on this attitude of things feeling meaningless and empty will make you free. And you will start to see that these things are completely subjective and start to see what meaninglessness and emptiness actually are. Absolute Freedom, and paradoxically, that's the most meaningful thing there is.

@Truth I'v been dealing with similar problem and your answer is very helpful. Sometimes I see people deeply caring about some silly stuff and I even get a bit jelous about it. You think it's possible to have such a passion for something after realzing that everything is subjective therfore basically meaningless ? How to go from meaninglessness into caring about stuff ?

Absolutely. You're absolutely free to take any position that you want in life.  Honestly some people just need to sit down, put on some music or something and get in touch with their heart. And I know that can sound very hippyish but, by taking on this position that everything is meaningless and empty is happening because they've purposefully devoided themselves of meaning and passion, Why? Because they've created taken for granted positions and beliefs and lost side of their absolute freedom. Their infinite nature. Their soul/heart. Whatever you want to call it; and deep down they recognize that it's time to return, and how can they when they’ve already decided that it’s meaningless and pointless? And the Truth is we don't actually know that things are this way. But we can pretend to know, and this gets us into trouble. We take a position and hold it as Truth and then we're stuck in that position. Not allowing us to be open or free to be any other position.

Moving from one position to another (meaninglessness to meaningfulness) is just a start. The ideal is to be positionless. Absolutely Free, but at the same time grounded not to venture too far off into the void ;) . Now cue the sappy inspirational music!

The key thing here is to reconnect to your emotions.

You might have experienced traumatic experiences in your childhood, which caused you to block your feelings. It was so painful that you could not bear anymore...

Have you tried psychedelics? They are great at making you tap into your authentic emotions once again.

Breathing exercises can also help.

Deep healing work needed!

you can do it ;)

I used to be lazy as fuck

I drop out college

I felt depressed and useless

I used to not care anything

But...

Now I'm feeling totally motivated and inspired.

I'm living with a sense of direction

How did I change?

First, you will need a life purpose course! It's gonna change you as a person.

Having a life purpose; it's about having a mission in life, it's about leaving a legacy, it's about living big.

Having life purpose is the key. I stopped feeling depressed, useless and lazy.

I totally recommend from Actualized.org "Life Purpose Course"

Collage it's not the best answer. Going to college and getting a degree it's not gonna guarantee your success.

I don't go to college because I don't need a piece of paper (degree)  for becoming an entrepreneur.

College makes me feel miserable, bored and stressed.

I'm self educating at home with tons of books (money, psycology, nutrition, relationships, success, marketing)

Don't waste your precious life! Don't waste your precious time! Life is beautiful and awesome!

There are values in attending college. On a pragmatic sense, it is better to make a living with a college degree. There are also great subjects that are useful to spiritual growth like psychology and philosophy.

What you called meaningless and emptiness is probably not an insight you got. It is an emotion - you are depressed. I have been there when I was on my junior year in high school with all the pressure to get straight A's on my AP classes. I asked myself why do I need to work this hard? We are going to die anyway so nothing really matters. Why even pursue spiritual enlightenment or self actualization? That takes hard work and causes a great deal of struggling.

I had this kind of thoughts for several weeks, feeling extremely depressed. But what did I do? I immersed myself into phone, food, porn. Yeah, these things will make me feel better than studying. It ended up making me more miserable and depressed because these things make me feel more painful not happy.

Okay, then I think to myself, obviously I don't have the courage to end my life now. If I were to continue my life, I want to have an unconditionally happy life. But that requires work! I need to meditate. I need to contemplate. I need to read books. I don't want to do all of them. Those are painful. Everything is meaningless right...... At this point I felt that maybe this "everything is meaningless" is just an excuse used by the ego to avoid work. Enlightened people who truly understand these truths are not as depressed as me. They are happy. They are disciplined. They are hard-working.

And then I further I admit that I am just a newbie, an ordinary trapped person. I still have a lot of addictions. I still want to have love and security. I still crave for success and comfort. I am not out of the society. And most importantly, I am not an enlightened master who have looked through the illusion of life and death and understood the true meaning of meaningless and emptiness. Don't lie to yourself, your small little petty ego who thinks you know something.

I got humble. I fully accepted my situation. And my perspective on life changes a bit: in this life, I am going to live for the highest quality. I am going to experience the most beautiful thing. I am going to be the happiest person. I am going to understand the meaning of life and death. These goals makes me feel better than pretending to know "everything is meaningless" or working blindly and unconsciously.

Now I still have ups and downs. I am still an ordinary trapped person. But I am motivated to work - work on myself -  every day.

The biggest takeaway I think is: don't lie to yourself and believe that you can live a no suffering, happy life.

Hope it is helpful.

Been there, let me just ask you if you take any drugs or substances  even alcohol or cigarettes. If yes, absolutley start dropping those immediatly.

Also stop hanging around with the people you hang around with and start eating healthy , also meditate consistently.

Look inside what really brings joy to that deepest inner place.

If you follow these action-steps , i hope to hear from you in 3 month!

peace bro
