But its not that easy to do.

So lets share experiences, tipps, resources, video tutorials, ... for cutting our own hair.

21 Euros here in germany. And its also a hassle, as I often need to wait in line. 

I would go once a week optimally, I can stretch to once every 2 or 3+ weeks, but I notice that it doesnt look as good after a week anymore.

True. i cut my own hair for 3+ years now after i was frustrated by the lack of design vision of barbers. most motherfuckers are just technicians. 

but i didn't learn it anywhere, it was just intuitive to me, because i used to draw and paint. i just work on it like an art piece, trusting the process and figuring it out as i go.

Exxy as fuck. I purchased proper hairdresser scissors from Japan (short and long) and have been cutting my own hair since. I cannot afford $100 bucks + each go. 

You learn through practice. I looked like I went for a spin in the lawnmower the first few times. Lots of online resources now (not as many when I started). Male cutting and styling techniques - I'd try there 😊

I don't have many tips, the type of cutting and styling for women is totally different. Just time and practice. 

I've saved about $7k over the years

-Use Video tutorial for basis. Look for a haircut tutorial and try to imitate it from a 1st person perspective.

-3 way foldable mirror: Helps with cutting the back of the hair.

-Buy clippers:

 

Cut the back by feel: The back of the head is the hardest part (It is what it is). Try to use the 3 way mirror to see what your hands are feeling, and then just cut by feel after thst.

 

Ultimately:

If you're ugly, you're ugly. No haircut will change that. Like no matter how much Zendaya spends on her hair she still looks busted. No matter what Sydney Sweeney spends on her hair, her eyes still look 50 years old.

I like when people cut and take care of my hair and am willing to pay for that service. Not everything has to be done yourself - as an act of self-love it is also sometimes okay to pay someone else to get it done.

If you get a Leo Gura style you dont need to worry.

I try having long hair and medium. Now I am Bold by choice. As soon as it grows a bit I shave it. Save in hairdresser and not need to put chemicals and my crowd chackra.

I cut my own hair but its easy since i just get a buzzcut. Youd need a setup of clippers and mirrors if you actually wanted to style it
