Discipline is evil

123 posts in this topic

Discipline is love of self and laziness is hatred of others. Others are going to do the work for me. Be sure you be honest about this before trying to make friends. Your true friends are hookers, pushers, politicians and pimps. The lazy love the lazy and scorn the one with self esteem.

Restriction actually leads to more freedom. Although a fool might think restriction is “evil”.

This is actually the anthem of homeless people “ I want to be free” and they end up with no money, no house and no car. They can’t do anything.

So freedom and restrictions are not a zero sum game. Sometimes you give up some freedom (which requires discipline) to get more freedom.

Not restriction, but Structure.

Ehm, this is a bizarre take. Almost every argument is easier to express cleanly in written form than spoken form.

But you can't reach their Hearths, which is the most essential part of Communications.

This is basically saying "my arguments don't stand on their own, so I need charisma and manipulation to make people believe them"

Arguments are a lower consciousness thing. A Free Mind possesses the Fire of an Open Hearth.

If your brain is not sufficiently stimulated to commit the discipline required to do a certain thing it means either that this thing is not enough for you, and/or that your nervous system has been impaired by poor lifestyle habits or by factors that discourage delayed gratification.

Well, I love the work of Leo. But I think a forum is just not sufficient for the kind of human development needed on this planet in the future.

Isn't this an odd line of reasoning, though?

Genuinely appears you are using the limitations of communication as a reason to avoid the responsibilities of communicating.

Users are trying to engage with your claims. Trying to understand & question for clarity.

But as soon as they do so, you dismiss the medium of language as inadequate? Then you elevate some deeper form of communication (reaching the heart) as above the ordinary requirements of being understood?

Language is limited, yes (especially because it is formed by the very distinctions we are trying to escape through spirituality), but that doesn't mean that communication is impossible.

Ironically, perhaps the very evil "discipline" you're arguing against is not what is required here: the willingness to stop, listen, understand what's being asked, examine your own thinking and make the effort to articulate/reformulate more precisely is. The absence of discipline is causing a gap in understanding. Moving away from unity, connection, love - the very things we are all trying achieve.

First! We must polish the surface of the head to a pristine finish, to reflect & intensify the divine rays of light and cleanse all falsehood!

I'm just recently becoming more and more conscious of the fact, that if you want to reach people and truly move something in this world and in other human beings, that will only be achieved by becoming a speaker.

Writing something in this forum doesn't change the world as much as I'd like it to. So I'm making it my work to speak. That's what I'm doing. Discipline is not needed because I'm doing it out of my God-Given Freedom. Because I LOVE to wake up early and get to work early. Because I LOVE to think about how to translate those ideas into words. Because I LOVE to listen to other human being's stories and Connect with them on a True & Deep level.

I hope you may see where I'm coming from. I find your contributions here some of the most emotionally mature and I see what you do here. You're beautiful.

It's just that I'm growing more and more out of the stage where a lot of my spiritual work was writing here and listening to Leo. Someday in every serious human being's life there comes a point where we outgrow out teachers. And maybe that's just the case for me.

Life must go on, regardless of discipline, love, or freedom. That's why we have laws and law enforcement - to ensure a minimum standard that allows everyone to survive.

Love whatever you want, but if your actions break the law, welcome to jail. Freedom without discipline has consequences.

Yes - thank you for stating this so well. I understand this. I spoke of something very similar in an interview I partook in recently with @Vido. I experienced a massive internal shift, like two gears clunking into place; a shift into effortlessness in my state of being. Force no longer needed to follow a natural impulse to move and simply let my body express through acting out various tasks. In service to love & connection. A surrender. Discarding all resistance. And with it, all self generated internal suffering.

I can agree with your position if we can meet at "discipline is felt as force & friction while we remain separate, and is experienced as suffering"

...maybe separation is the evil :D

It is the difference between being the fire that consumes, uses and is energised by the wind - we can use the wind. As opposed to being pushed around by the wind, resisting and fighting. From effort to Effortlessness.

Maybe this resonates...maybe it doesn't.

Yes, absolutely. The teacher must be discarded. The teaching must be discarded - else it becomes another ground to attach to, begging to be dissolved. I understand you. Throw it all away... it has been eaten already.

I don't post in the spiritual subsection of the forum for this very reason. I like to play a bit more. Seeking has slowed. There doesn't feel like as much to resolve or reconcile. I just like to connect, relate and understand others on a human level now.

This topic should also be something I'm curious about that we should discuss it our interview. Noted

This is something i find super fascinating as well as a topic since I spent like a decade trying to understand this and stuff i think i haven't fully figured it out yet. I have a sense of what it means but never fully articulated my understanding.

I love learning new things, i think i fall in love with the possibility of who I would become if i became a master at this. But for me growing up is almost letting those possibilities die and become more grounded. That doesn't mean that I don't learn stuff, i learn it, try it out but drop it if i lose interest. Somethings i keep it stable like my job, my passion, etc.

Sometimes you need to try something to know it's not for you. For example, i wanted to go gym for the longest time, tried it, never stuck. Recently like months ago, i got a pull up bar, and do a couple pull ups every time I could randomly. That improved my physique more than anything in I have tried. Sometimes the thing you think you are supposed to be good at is not for you.

I think figuring out what you vibe with us a huge thing. Creating your own challenges that you can grow from is also a huge skill.

Discipline is to disciple; you become a disciple of your own regimens and the (your) life philosophy that contains them.

This is the true meaning; the essence of it at least.

The lesson is to go beyond surface cultural interpretations that yes, can circulate very unhealthy beliefs that restrict consciousness growth.
