But the vast majority of men didn't typically impregnate 100s of women and leave the kids to rot... unless he was a warlord like Ghengis Kahn or something.

In most societies, the majority of men had one wife and played an active role in their children's lives.

So, active fatherhood is one of the core functions of men throughout the duration of the human species.

Survival first. Human children are so dependent for so long that women have to be more specialized evolutionary. You can't be a father without being good at survival, whereas women can rely on the man for their survival. You see this reflected in how women overwhelmingly select for men who are good at survival (fame, strength, wealth, status, etc.).

One harsh truth is that rehabillitation isn't very effective.

And you seem to think its either an option of being left or far right.

@Ulax

And how do you know that? Where did you get this information? Have you actually researched it?

Personally, I would say that I don't know for sure what the truth is. Here in Finland, we have some great rehabilitation centers, and rehabilitation has worked for some people. But I don't know if it can work for everyone. That's something we can debate. But it's not a harsh truth. It's a harsh opinion. 😁

In my opinion, at least. 😂

I understand why you feel that I only see things in black and white. To be honest, I do lean heavily to the left because of this far-right push. But I don't feel like I'm tied to either side. If the left started invading other countries, committing genocide, and taking away people's rights, you'd see me right there fighting against the left. ☺️

They say in the article women were found with hunting tools. This doesn’t prove they hunted. In some cultures the women actually made the hunting tools too.

As I read through the article it’s not really showing conclusive evidence of anything. It’s just saying how women could be good hunters.

Why is women not hunting equating them to being inferior? That’s so wild. Being a mother, is not inferior to hunting. That’s an odd bias in the article. It’s also odd the researcher wants to show women could be better hunters than men. But they should be focused on discovering what was TRUE.

If you provide high-quality evidence, I'm open to persuasion.

Not all men are stronger than all women.  This is common sense.

In tree planting I met women who kick my ass daily. Even a 17 year old girl. But, none of them were as good as the best males not even close.

Woke people are actually dreamers. And they need a rude awakening how things are. Nothing wrong with dreaming of a world where things are better but the problem arises when they think their current dreams are the reality. It is because they live in these green bubbles. If a war happens or something you will see all these feminists drop their little dreams of feminism as seen in the ukraine war.  You won’t see women in the trenches talking about equality and how they deserve to be on the front lines. War is the ultimate hunting ground so according to this article they should be the best soldiers.

A researcher with a PhD in colonialism or gender studies, like on that paper, will have a strong woke agenda.

The paper's authors have PhD's in Anthropology. The Colonialism PhD belongs to the science writer who wrote the article about the paper, not to the authors of the paper. Not denying there might be agendas also among the researchers, just wanted us to have the facts right about what we are discussing. According to ChatGPT, the article's author has more of an agenda than the paper, which is more nuanced.

@Bjorn K Holmstrom Thanks for sharing that. I realize I should have looked more closely. I approached the subject more generally than specific to the article.

True but there are various reasonable aspects to feminism too

I know how it is to be swayed by my own agenda in the past, jumping to conclusions. But I think an agenda might be justified in certain situations too.

@Bjorn K Holmstrom Looks like the guy was referring to this article here not the actual paper.

https://news.nd.edu/news/woman-the-hunter-studies-aim-to-correct-history/

But, even then it’s odd. Women better suited than men? I just don’t buy it.

@Bjorn K Holmstrom The thing is, they are making a biological argument and working backward. Looking at the physical trates, hormones, hips, endurance. I know first hand women are very strong and capable physically, even if less so than the strongest men.

But, the article doesn’t consider that humans live in a social environment. It’s not just physical ability that leads to task completion.

From what I’ve seen, men and women likely both hunted. But, I’m not convinced they were primary hunters, or equal hunters in all tribes, in all or the majority of cultures.

The article is full of issues: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-theory-that-men-evolved-to-hunt-and-women-evolved-to-gather-is-wrong1/

At one point it says marathoners female, and powerlifters male.

The fastest marathoners are men, and biggest lifters are men… wtf.

Men and women can do both.

She looked at all these biological aspects of women, and worked backwards to say they could be good hunters. I agree they can be and are.  That’s not really good science though. It doesn’t prove how overall survival lead most tribes. She does mention as well some archeological clues, and some example of good female hunters today.

I don’t doubt women’s capabilities personally and I push back on them not being able to hunt because they were inferior.

I’d like to admit not knowing here, and to remain open. I’m sort of hashing out my process and I’ll take it more personally to read and think about this subject.
