I feel stuck :(

16 posts in this topic

I feel completely stuck in life right now and I could really use some advice.

I don’t have a university degree or any particular specialty or professional skills. I worked in tourism for about two years, but it’s winter now, so that work has slowed down. More importantly, I really want to start something of my own.

I’m from Georgia, and salaries here are pretty low, so if I want to build a better life financially, I feel like I need to create something for myself. The problem is… I have absolutely no idea what.

I’ve heard so many times that you don’t have to figure everything out in one night, and that you should just take small steps every day. I even bought Leo’s course and went through it, but honestly, my head is still completely empty.

The weird thing is that I’m not afraid to work. I have enough courage and energy to try things, fail, learn, start again, whatever. I just don’t know what to try.

I genuinely can’t even imagine what kind of business, skill, or direction could work for me.

So, if you’ve ever been in a similar position, what helped you figure out your direction? What would you do if you were in my situation?

@jacknine119 I don't know if it will help you, but I did some mushrooms around my life purpose. I got some deep insides into it, so maybe take some psychedelics and go into nature. Be careful tho with your surroundings, I was with a sjamaan who is also my friend, he helped me to not fall into the water etc. But doing mushrooms in nature, contemplating about your life purpose, men that shit went deep. I completly surrendered to the flow, I would recommend doing it.

My recommendation is to go to college. Even an associates degree from community college opens a lot more doors than you would expect. Try to expose yourself to AI and how you can use it in your day to day. I would definitely start here first.

Books alone are not going to solve your problem.

I would say read the books you want in you free time.

But use your time to take action, some things you could try:

- travel to other countries just to explore or move

- enroll at university in person or online

- apply to jobs( in person or online)

- start a tourism agency

- sell things for tourists, could also be services of any kind, like: for opening business/bank accounts in georgia, etc

- sell weed and psychedelics to tourists.

- some online business or service?

- in general try and explore until something works, this may take you 10 years but it often works, it worked for me and I've seen it work for others. Reading is nice to get some context and ideas on whats possible but at some point more information becomes a trap. I've seen people spend their days reading and listening to podcasts and never executing on their dreams. The best ideas I got them from real people I met while trying random stuff rather than from books.

- it may not work, but what else can you do?

Vibe code something you would like to see on the internet or as an app and that is monetizable (e.g. through a service or product, membership, etc.), use Canva and Meta ads for marketing. Ask AI how to vibe code (it's really straightforward now after AIs can edit your files live on the computer; for ChatGPT this is called Codex and you must download the app for it to work like that). So a monthly 20$ ChatGPT or equivalent AI company membership and some time and you'll already have big potential.

"But everybody is vibe coding". Firstly, no, basically only coders and perhaps some few other nerds started vibe coding when it became a thing. Secondly, finding a product people will buy is not hard, and it's about executing it to a reasonable extent that is marketable, and you have to be able to market it (which depends on your marketing skills and general intelligence if you're doing it by yourself). And then you only need a bit of capital to get the ball rolling (Meta ads require a little bit of money for results) and suddenly you'll have 20-50-100 subscribers and income which you can siphon into more subscribers again.

And when I say "vibe code", I don't mean sending one prompt to ChatGPT and asking it to build an entire website in one go and that's your entire work done for you. I'm talking about meticulously building a good product with repeated refining of your product over time using vibe coding and just your general creative impulse. People who think vibe coding is a gimmick are the same people who thought Excel spreadsheets or just computers in general were a gimmick. If you use it to magnify proper work, proper effort and aim, that's what decides the output. Everybody can write one prompt, but not everybody wants to write thousands of prompts and polish recursively what comes out.

You could make it outgoing, it depends entirely on your business idea. Gotta think outside the box for this one.

That's the hardest part for me. Have you actually built products that people bought?

I'll get back to you on that.

The thing is you know there are products that people buy by the virtue that you are yourself buying some of those products. And you can sell them if you would buy your own product. Then the only question is about getting the product to the market, which in the age of social media ads (depending on your marketing skills) is basically only a question of some minor starting funds (and that I do actually have real experience with which is what drove me partially to do things in this direction). And if the product is easily scalable, that's a feedback loop that can grow very quickly.
