Solipsism is actually not totally true

But of course, as I always point out: The above is a model of reality, not reality itself. Where people get hung up is when they confuse the description for the "thing" itself.

There’s actually no confusion at all. The description of a “thing” is known in it’s conception.

In this conception a concept “known”  knows nothing  -  because nothing, no thing, not a thing, is not a thing that can be described or known.

Sometimes awareness begins with sensing something before you have the words to understand it.

The issue is how do we reconcile psychedelic trips with regular experience.

That’s an elementary issue, regular experience is a trip without tripping.

Ego "death" psychedelic trips just reveal to you that what you take as everyday mundane reality is actually the miracle you've been seeking your entire life.  Eyes to see and all that jazz.

You dont need psychedelics either but they sure are an effective short cut if you're brave enough.  Remembering that what you take for being your mind is actually the only mind in existence (the kingdom is within) takes some serious intestinal fortitude to acknowledge and carry with you at all times.

The Truth has never failed anyone, it is the people that failed Truth.

It doesn't matter whether solipicism is true or false. All that matters is: did you avoid pain today and meet all your needs for your physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing in the most straightforward way possible? This is all which matters. Nothing else matters. Who cares whether solipicism is true or not true? It doesn't matter. All that matters is YOUR well being and survival. Stop asking stupid unnecessary philosophical questions when the bare raw TRUTH is that all you need is eat shit sleep socialize and avoid pain. This is all you have done, is doing and will ever do! There is literally NO OTHER PATH. All spiritual teachers do this. As long as you have a physical body this is what you do. This is all you do. Every day. Every night. It's incessant. And that's ok. Just don't pretend like your philosophical thinking and your quest for whether solipicism is true or untrue makes you any more advanced than any other person who just eats shits and sleeps and socializes because this is what we all do. No one that is physically incarnated will EVER convince me that they're doing something more advanced than eating shitting sleeping and caring for their well being. This is ALL people do. That's it. 100% always. Don't fool yourself into thinking that these philosophical questions are more important than what are you gonna eat today and how are you going to avoid pain today. There is no interest in your mind to solve the solipicism question. What interest do you have in it? NONE! Carefully obsverve yourself: what does it serve you, us or anyone if you personally solve the solipicism question? Nothing. There is no value at all in answering that question. All which matters is: eat shit sleep and socialize. Peace of mind and physical wellbeing. Nothing else matters to you or to anyone. Nothing else has EVER dominated the interest of men's minds and never will. Well being is ALL you're after. Just keep going after it unapologetically cuz... what else to do? There is no other path but that

"Pain" is a brute word. It's about meaning. Philosophizing can create a sense of meaning because it can create coherence in your experience (and it can do the opposite as well, but that's arguably one of the most core implicit aims). And you can do what is "painful" in the short term because it is beneficial in the long term, which is to bring purpose to your life. You can avoid eating and even shitting because you're so engrossed by something meaningful. Happens to all kinds of people all the time.

You're absolutely wrong. If you have a physical body all which matters is your physical social and emotional well being if you don't have these things you can't do others things at all. If these philosophical questions bring you "meaning" go for them, you can avoid eating and shitting only TEMPORARILY, very shortly. Then you're right back to it. Why? Because it is more important. A sense of "meaning" is not required to eat shit and sleep. A sense of "meaning" is BS. It's ok, but it doesn't matter. What matters is your physical emotional social mental wellbeing and survival. That is all you have done, is doing and will ever do.
You cannot do what is painful in the short term. You can ONLY do what you can tolerate. A little bit of pain. No more than you can handle and that's the only "pain" you'll ever be able to take. You will still avoid anything beyond the breaking point obsvioubly. So in truth, well being is still the ONLY interest even in people who claim to be "courageous" and thinking of the "long term purpose". Theres no long term, only ur well being now matters. Purpose is a fancy term for trying to bullshit yourself into thinking your life is something more than eating shitting sleeping socializing. Relax, you don't need a fancy purpose for this.

That is all you have done, is doing and will ever do.

It matters for those couple of minutes of the day where you become hungry and you eat your food, and then it doesn't matter any longer.

That's how meaning works: if you continue eating after you're full, that's meaningless. Meaning deals with what is fitting and appropriate for each moment, and that changes moment to moment. You don't socialize 24/7; you also have to sleep. And you don't sleep 24/7 either, you also have to get up and take a shit and do stuff. Then you eat food sometimes, then you do more stuff.

What stuff you do tends to matter a bit more than the basics that you have to do, unless you fail miserably at the basics and you don't get to do them satisfactorily. Except for that case, you only have so much time to eat and shit and lay in bed. That's also why people philosophize because 1. they try to figure out what is the best thing to do, and 2. they have the time to do that. And 3. it's even meaningful to do that, or it is experienced as meaningful to do that.

Even you writing a rant about how pain and taking a shit and eating foods is the most meaningful thing there is, is you philosophizing and spending your time not thinking about pain or eating or sleeping. Because that is what you experience as meaningful in this particular moment.

@Carl-Richard
There is only ONE reason I'm ranting about this: peace of mind and avoidance of pain. This is 100% my interest and agenda. People bother and annoy me with unnecessary philosophical questions. It's annoying because it is pointless. So there is no other reason I'm ranting other than me fighting for peace of mind. Our quest for peace of mind, avoidance of pain, and fulfillment of physical, mental and emotional and social needs as I've said is the ONLY path in this life.

And being logically correct, insightful, meaningful in how you interact with the world? If not, why would you care about writing in a coherent and understandable way, why would you care about coming to the conclusion that indeed it's all just about pain and avoidance of suffering? Why would you care that I disagree? You call other people's philosophizing pointless, but what about your own? Doesn't it strike you as meaningful?

@Carl-Richard
Because if I write in an inchoherent way, people don't understand and if people don't understand me then they won't benefit my wellbeing. The only reason I'm interested in practicing writing and speaking coherently is so that I'll be able to use this skill in a way that directly benefits my well being: physical, mental, emotional and social. That is the one and only reason everyone ever writes, thinks or does anything. I have lost my job once and felt extremely anxious. Physically anxious because I was uncertain about how I'd meet my physical and social needs. Only one thing mattered at that point: how will I make new friends, how will I meet new people for a new job? And my life is a little bit more stable now but STILL that is the only thing in my mind for as long as I'm awake: how to keep these things running smoothly so I'm never again in that painful situation.

So our conversation doesn't stike me as "meaningful" other than it helping me hone my capacity to convince people that eating shitting and sleeping is the one and only purpose of their physically incarnated experience. There is no pure motive in why I'm doing anything. The only motive is me getting my ass out of pain's way.

@Meeksauce You didn’t really explain or prove why solipsism isn’t true here. Then, you stated you would awaken Leo which came off odd. I’m not sure what’s going on here.

@Thought Art
You're confused because OP isn't being straightforward with you about his physical mental or emoitonal and social needs. Every time a human being starts talking about "awakening" or "solipicism" or any other weird philosophical matter, it will confuse you. Because deep down we all know that each one of us is only after physical and emotional and mental and social WELL BEING. You will only feel a solid sense of sanity when people are straightforward with you about what they need and what they're after: avoidance of pain and the maximization of their well being. So philosophers will forever confuse you because philosophizying about "solipicism" is unnatural and counter productive.

@blankisomeone Uh, no I’ve listened to very coherent talks on this from people like Leo and Ramona Maharishi. OP rambles and makes no clear points. I don’t need preaching on someone looking for wellbeing. I am just addressing that he didn’t make clear his original statement.

He opened up with a thesis statement, and then rambled around showing he hasn’t really thought about it that much. Some sentences were interesting, others questionable perhaps beliefs about the nature of God.

Title of the thread is “solipsism is not totally true”. Then he went on a rant addressing aspects of what he thinks is the nature of God. He never came to a final point on his title.
