The point is not to demean humans, but to tell yourself that humans are not serious about truth. It is about breaking out of human conformity.

The point is to stop believing humans. That's what the negative emotions serve. You are right to be upset because you've been gaslit from birth by everyone.

I was 14 the last time I truly, wholeheartedly felt this way. I was really angry too. I saw very clearly, for the first time, without being able to excuse it by exercising plausible deniability, how full of shit adults were in so many ways. The ways in which people were lying to themselves, but then also imposing their worldview onto me as truth. Including many "smart", accomplished, respected adults.

Unfortunately for us, the only person who dines on our own contempt is usually ourselves and sometimes those who were predisposed to think that way anyway. That is both a circle jerk and an echo chamber -- each thing reinforces the other. It's in the same category as anger which calcifies into bitterness; it poisons you first and foremost. Best not to make that into habit, and then to make that habit into a whole ass institution. This is how it gets even harder, more inconvenient, and maybe it feels even impossible to leave as a result. Like you are leaving everything, because you are losing an attached social identity -- a karma.

Since then, I have held the attitude that a cynical attitude is a dime a dozen because so often it's just easy and convenient to be cynical. It requires no special effort or grace and it helps no one in the long run. So its not just that it is "wrong" or "lesser" to be angry (which is just more moralization), but rather that it serves no real constructive value unless you thing is that you also like to play in the pig pen of negative emotions (actually no personal judgement here, it is what it is). If part of you wants to be cynical as a predisposition, it is easy enough to measure the world by your own standards and values (which may in fact be something that is worth being a more universal human value, but that is besides the point here) and then create an inventory by which other people are failing to measure up. How could it be any other way when you're the person making the ruler and doing the measuring? Consider the ways in which this could be done to you (you measured by other people's standards and then failing to measure up) and the ways in the ways in which maybe, just maybe, there might also be some truth to this too.

Sometimes people need to vent (which I get), but it's worth considering what made you feel like you needed to release steam in the first place. And by that, I don't mean consider what other people did wrong in order to deserve judgement, I mean ask what it is within yourself that causes you want to react in that way. What are you trying to protect yourself from or exorcise out of your system, for example, beyond the obvious? (E.g. I don't want to be like these people and I am not like these people.)  What are you rejecting in them that may also exist in yourself in some form already that you might have missed? Or alternatively, what if your contempt is a barrier to really understanding people properly, if that is something that you're interested in?

You don't have to endorse their behaviour, their intentions, and the way they live, and accept what they accept, but you also don't have to have contempt either. It's in your hands.

You don't have to pretend humanity isn't its own bitter enemy that is constantly seeking its own destruction. Its okay to acknowledge that.  Rule numero uno, judge not lest ye be judged.

Don't turn that into an identity to operate from.  Otherwise you're no better than what you rail against.  You have to like, be conscious and shit.

This is a quote from Ramakrishna.   He wouldn’t even allow most of his disciples to study nonduality, because they weren’t pure enough.  The ancient gurus of India understood that humans are very impure, and purification has to come before truth.  So, for most people – find an image of God and worship.

But that isn't whats true, that's what you think. And of course reality is just reality. We aren't perfect and not everybody believes what you believe or acts how you wish they would act.

Being born into this world was a no win situation from jump street so its best to be proactive under these circumstances and understand this is as good as it gets.

Just relax and enjoy the show.

Oh we could be much, much better. A question: can you have truth without harmony?

We ain't that much different either. I am as bias to harmony as you are. We are emotional creatures, that's why threads get heated all the time, lol.

I don’t really think in these terms anymore. I’m only concerned about harmony within myself and I’d say truth is most definitely necessary for that as well as responsibility, and just embracing that I’ll make plenty of mistakes along the way. Living this way has made me realize how everyone literally is fucking up a ton as well and figuring their shit out. I don’t project out ideas onto the world how I think if only x or y we would all get along. Hippies have been diluting themselves yapping like this for decades. The change starts with you and I’d adjust your expectations what to expect from other people because half the time they will let you down and let you down badly they will.

@AtmanIsBrahman

It's not humans.

It's the feedback loops that create the system that creates them.

If I asked you to practice compassion right now if you're already experienced doing it, you would change your physiological state.

Behaviour is state dependent.

System is state dependency.

We've all been how you're expressing yourself.

The only way to ameliorate that is to leverage it towards growth.

I recommend doing so towards raising self-awareness, particularly around how you can master your own inner feedback loops so that you can avoid committing the same crime and therefore adding to the predicament you speak of.

Consciousness transmutation is a must skill to master.

But it starts with discerning the differences between and becoming aware of our states of consciousness, inclusive of the whole body and nervous system.

This forum has a severe case of groupthink. Practicing groupthink while actively deluding themselves that it's not that. Now groupconvince me.

I'm not doing groupthink.

But you can think whatever you want to think. There's no way of proving one way or another.

What is this? That's the only question.

Yes it is. You're thinking basically exactly like Leo in more or less every breath you take.

I go on my life looking for harmony within myself too. That already fixes a shit ton of conflict. Then there is the harm that other people do, can't really avoid that.

There is a widom in hippies that if everyone were happier there would be less conflict.

I find your perspectives on topics in the forum fascinating. What is your background and what kind of books did you read? Your language choice strikes me as being an engineer, software or maybe just a general engineer.

Your wish is my command: I am the difference between 0x0 and 0x1.

Note: This is a programmer's joke that you only can get if you have extensive background in the programming language "C" and also Assembly. So actual code that runs on the processor. Machine code as you would say.

Resolution: 0x0 and 0x1 is hex, so it is 0 and 1 in decimal, it is not (0 times 0 and 0 times 1). It is like asking "What is heavier 6 or 7 -> They have no weight". Those are all questions you can ask for fun to test someone. People hate being tested. Try it.

@Leo Gura Might get these jokes, but I don't know if he has ever done any "Embedded Programming", those tiny spelling mistakes can lead to catastrophic system crashes. I had to change the boot code on an embedded system to support the 2nd core of the processor. The operating system only supported one core.... That was a hell of a ride. 3 days stepping through every single line of code, just to reach the destination where the crash happens, or backtracing. The vibe coders have no idea what their shit code produces on the processor that actually has to execute their trash. I just laugh at all these people. I can kill your entire system with a single line of machine code.
