Woman falling for criminals and serial killers

I think another thing worth noting is that men are generally more likely to commit crimes or have a criminal record. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the statistics support this.

If that's the case, then wouldn't it make sense that women are more likely to end up with a partner who has a criminal record, simply because men are more likely to have one in the first place?

We don't really know whether women genuinely prefer men with criminal records, or whether it's simply that women are more likely to encounter men with criminal records in the first place, given that men are statistically more likely to commit crimes. And if a woman meets a man, develops feelings for him, and only later discovers his criminal history, that doesn't necessarily mean she was attracted to his criminality in the first place.

It's kind of like saying men love women who get plastic surgery and botox. If women make up the majority of people who get plastic surgery, then a man is statistically more likely to end up with a woman who has had it. But that doesn't tell us whether he actually prefers women who've had plastic surgery.

We're confusing the likelihood of ending up with someone who has a particular trait with an actual preference for that trait. Those are two very different things.

I might be making a false comparison here, but I do think it's worth mentioning as part of the discussion.

Just imagine the human potential being wasted on understanding women, while we could have used this energy to explore space. But in general I think less is more.

It isn't wasted human potential to understand women. It leads to connection, relationships, kids. It creates human potential.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.
