How do you know that?

How do you know that?

I’ve been inside the White House before, so I have verified it is a real place in my consciousness that I never experienced before. I also have seen video footage of the East Wing being taken down, so the place is being demolished even though I’m not there now. The demolition happened and then I saw video footage of it. Maybe it is AI, but it has been verified by CNN and other news networks that the demolition of the East Wing is happening to build a ballroom. The video footage corresponded to reality when I went to see the White House and the Pentagon.

This external world thing is so hard for me to deconstruct. The external world I know is only ever going to be a thought in my consciousness. But reality keeps confirming otherwise. I see video footage of the White House, and I know for sure the White House isn’t just AI because I’ve been there.

I assume you have a house because I’ve seen video footage of you in it and you said so in your blog. Whether you sold the house or moved out is something I don’t know.

A simpler example is you are typing to me on some computer/device of some kind. That device/computer exists outside of my awareness right now. You couldn’t type or film videos without a camera/device of some kind.

The very video you make is rendered by a camera and a world that exists but isn’t in the awareness. I cannot see behind me, but if I turn my head, a new stuff appears that wasn’t perceived before.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Existence is truth; thus, existence is its own validation, which makes things self-caused.

The White House is self-caused, because its existence doesn't depend on anything other than being itself just by existing.

Blue is not actually an electromagnetic wave.

Blue is truth. Blue is absolute.

Dude, none of that addresses the point.

You are hallucinating the White House.

So, does the football field where the airman died from rappelling exist right now even though I’m not aware of it in my direct experience right now?

The airman’s unfortunate death already implies that that event happened, which means there is something behind the scenes of your perceptions. Just because your senses don’t capture it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

I perceived the video footage, and I believe that the football field where the incident happened exists and is a potential place I can go to within my field of consciousness.

The way to talk about an external world is to be clear that you're conceding to the assumptions of conceptualization, of space and time, and inferences based on observation ("because x thing was observed consistently, repeatedly, in space and over time, it would be reasonable to describe that as existing independently in an external place we call the external world").

If you want to concede no such things, you cannot talk about any such things, but you can also not claim things like "other people's experience do not exist" because you're then conceding to those very assumptions also. So the solipsists, if they are claiming that above and they are simultaneously claiming that it's absolute knowledge, are just as much "in the wrong" here.

If they are claming it cannot be spoken of, they are in the right (in it being absolute knowledge). Then and only then is it truly absolute knowledge. Anything else is a corruption (relative knowledge).

Dude, none of that addresses the point.

You are hallucinating the White House.

But I’m also hallucinating my hands right now. So if the White House is a hallucination, if a unicorn is a hallucination, and if my hands are a hallucination, then what makes my hands more real than the White House or a unicorn since it’s all a hallucination? What makes one hallucination more real than another?

If the White House is as real as my hands, then it implies that the White House is just as real as my hands even though I cannot see the White House like I can my hands.

Edit: Thanks @Leo Gura for helping me with this. This is one aspect of consciousness I cannot understand. If actuality is a hallucination and if concept/imagination is a hallucination, then what is the difference? Saying the external world is a hallucination/imaginary is no more helpful to me than saying my hands are a hallucination/imaginary. My hands are the clearest perception I have; whereas the White House is a conceptual perception I am having now.

If reality is imaginary, then it is also the same thing as saying reality is real since there is no other reality to compare it being “imaginary” against. Real and imaginary cancel each other out when we talk about the Absolute.

I still feel like I actually went there and that I actually have a car even though I only conceive them and cannot perceive them right now.

Anything that exists is the truth, requiring no external cause for its existence.

There is no such thing as actual non-existence, because truth, being existence, cannot exist as a non-existent thing. So, non-existence is falsehood.

“What is, is; what is not, cannot be.” — Parmenides

Existence being truth is what allows any kind of thing to exist, due to things having the potential to exist by causing themselves to exist.
