Is Leo Gura awake or not?

I genuinely curious about your assesment of Leo's spiritual development and attainment. 

Is he a super being/human? A successful guy who had some glimpses of the beyond but still ordinary human?

Would you say he is on par with The Buddha, Mahavira, Ramana Maharshi and others?

Please be honest, I think we have enough material and history to talk about Leo's realization and development.

Seems he has the human mind ego on daily basis, but more thin, meaning less dense than average human, and then has peak states of non-duality etc during trips.

I share similar thoughts, this seems like a sensible position all things considered

Yea, makes sense, then what people define as being awakened/awakening differs, so its part of the ambiguity of the topic, partly why I didnt mention it as I don't know always what is meant by it....

I see.

One of the reasons I bring this topic up is because of Leo's questionable statements and behaviours people witnessed here on the forum and sometimes the language he uses and attitude. So it does bring some incoherence with what I would consider awakened one behaviour and language .

Not that I know what is meant by "awakening" either, but yeah I'm curious to hear people's opinions.

I guess in your view it means that you are always polite and never angry? If enlightenment is the realization that you are the whole universe and not just a sole human, why would that lead to perfect emotional mastery? I think it would certainly be a part of it but it seems like an outer layer of the onion. 

What about very calm people who don't really get angry and condescending ever, are they automatically enlightened?

It's worth questioning but I think your argument against Leo is circumstantial at best.

What do you mean by awake? Do you refer to siddhis?

I think many people do not understand the markers for awakening. And expect all conditioning to be dissolved when it is seen. Integration and grounding. These might be markers of enlightenment, but not awakening.

I struggle to even believe in some of our great teachers being enlightened by this definition. They have historically been just so derogatory to women (some of their quoted statements break my heart). We are less than. Awakening cannot transcend incentive structures or biology. Maybe enlightenment could. But what even IS that!
