Don't Use Pick-Up as a Substitute for Building a Social Circle

Pickup is like McDonalds. Social circle is like Whole Foods.

Understand it whatever you want.

@LordFall Do you have any book recommendations on how to fuel your dating life with status based game ?

Yeah I would read first The Truth by Neil Strauss and then The Setup by Dan Bilzerian.

The truth is not as talked about as his first bestseller the game but it's much better imo. He talks about the next few years of his life after becoming a famous pickup artist and how it led to unstable relationships and him cheating on his wife. He talks about finding ways to reconcile his polyamorous desires with the hardships of a monogamous framework. He went to therapy and tried all kinds of alternative lifestyles for a while to ultimately integrate his life cohesively and build a lifestyle that works for him.

Neil is such a talented writer, I read the 400 pages in like 2 days. It reads like a narrative fun story more than a self-help book and is funny but also has some really deep lessons in there.

The Truth is in my top 5 books of all time, I would say it's a must read for all single people men or women. He takes all the valuable dating dynamics from the pickup industry and removes all the darkness of the red pill energy for a read that enthralled mainstream audiences. I think he's one of the best authors of the 21st century.

The Setup talks directly about building a massive social circle and the media infrastructure to sell it. It's also a deep life story about Dan and his upbringing and it shows that contrary to lazy stereotypes, he's a very smart and well thought out man. He hired the up and coming videographer Jay North to document his life and make him the icon that he is today whereas before he was pretty unknown. He talks more directly about how to get laid and build mutually beneficial alliances with women.

Social circle game and status game, is not about girls, it is about status. It is about using personas like a play. Friendships and even intimate relationships are a play. In fact life is a play and that is what makes life fun.

If you don´t want to play what are you even doing on the set. Get off the set. And let people who want to play play and just be a spectator but dont party poop and say theater is just play. Everybody knows that.

Robert Greene talks about the skill on persona (social masks) in detail. You should study him. Although I don´t like his writing style he has some solid things to say.@Majed

@LordFall I think the best way for me to get laid heavily is to become famous through my rap career. However i need to build a stable source of income to build my rap career. Which will take a few years.

@LordFall Picking up girls is like begging for money. Yes you can get money that way, but there are more elegant and refined ways to do it. The best approach to get laid is to leverage your dream, aspiration and purpose, turn youself into a high status, recognized person, and get laid from fans of your work.

Picking up girls work well espicially in large venues like clubs, where people are drinking, dancing and having fun. Girls are more open to being hit on, and taken home if there's attraction.

You can combine both short term pick up game at clubs, and long term status/fame game with your career.

If I were you I would become a concert promoter. It's quite similar to a nightlife club promoter but for the music industry. You can network with other artists in your city that are bigger than you and you can get paid to put on their shows. Even better you can spend your time cold approaching and trying to get laid and the girls that aren't into it you just tell them are you into music? I'm putting on a show for X artist in a couple weeks you should pop by!

The idea of leverage is one of the most powerful concepts I'm starting to master. It's the simple idea of getting more output for your input. You can cold approach or you can cold approach, film content in the process and cross promote an event and it's maybe 1.5x more effort for 10x more results.

If you like that idea start studying the economics of the music industry and you can you can become a rapper yourself, but also start a concert promo company at the same time(which is free btw) and hit 2 birds with 1 stone.

When you become a multimillionaire rapper media mogul with 3 wives remember the sometimes friendly neighbourhood forum poster LordFall :D

@AION Really, what don't you like about Greene's writing style? I guess it can be a bit dry and academic but personally I love how he makes his points by writing history lessons in the footnotes to give them credibility, I don't read actual academic texts so I find it a happy medium.

Have you read Neil Strauss? He's much more playful in his writing, might be more your cup of tea.

Begging for pussy is not pick up. Best analogy for pickup is being like the sun and just by your presence you attract her into your orbit through attraction.

@LordFall Neil Strauss is ok writer but it is weird you compare him to Greene. They are different genres so I have different expectations. My biggest annoyance with his work is that he is all over the place jumping from one topic to another like 48 laws of power. His body of work is loose while that kind of topics require SD yellow vision logic. He wants to be the popular writer and thus his work feels too much like pop culture.

It definitely feels like begging though, since most girls you hit on reject you. Lmao.
