Have you seen Dark Matter yet? I'm the jason that didn't choose a family.  If you haven't seen it it's an awesome show. It doesn't get it all right but it's pretty fun. It's basically multi universe where their can be infinite copies of you all making different choices in different realities.  In one reality you're the family man.  In another you gave it up. It doesn't get consciousness right but who would.

@Someone here @Olaf I have kids and was married.  Divorced. Still have a great relationship with the kids.   I didnt choose that life though.  And i wouldn't again.
