Polygamy- does it work

I do feel lonely because my pov is very unique and no one can relate with me.

So, two things can be true here.

One is that your perspective may be genuinely different and un-relatable to many people. That's what I experienced growing up as a kid, and it was really hard for me to fit in before I developed some advanced level social skills that simply weren't attainable for me as a child.

And chronically not fitting in can create this "I'm different in a bad way" shame dynamic early on.

The other perspective is that, when people have these issues with fitting in early on.... they can begin coping with that issue by building the identity of the person who's "different in a good way" and trying to differentiate themselves more and more and more from ordinariness and averageness.

And they can do that by being different in a hierarchical way (being better)... or being different simply in a different way.

And I did both... and you seem to do both.

And for me, this differentiation coping strategy helped in certain ways because I was able to develop an identity and MO for myself that was unique from others where I could challenge societal rules that I didn't agree with, find my particular values, and develop myself in ways that few others do.

But this differentiation tendency had A LOT of collateral damage that I wasn't aware of until about 5 years ago... when I realized what my aversion to ordinariness and sameness was doing to me.

The collateral damage was that it pushes away all parts of me that are common, ordinary, and average and repressed them in order to maintain the "Different from all others" identity that I used to cope with isolation and alienation.

But this strategy also exacerbates the same kind of isolation and alienation from the original trauma... as the differentiation tendency causes a person to strive to become as superiorly alien as possible.

And it carves us out as islands.

And when I was a kid, this came through as me imagining myself as non-human mythical beings... and having all my classmates realize that I was actually an alien, vampire, or mermaid.

And later on, it came as spiritual identities and intellectual identities to prove myself better and different than others.

And this created a disconnect between myself and my humanity... with strong judgments towards the average human being.

So, once I realized this, it's been very important for me to shed any identities or MOs that are geared towards differentiating myself from the rest of humanity.

And this is why it's important for me to anchor myself in the "I am an average human being" perspective... and to cease attempting to transcend my basic bitch humanity to become some Ubermensch.

This wisdom is in knowing that being a basic bitch is the best medicine for "different in a good way" people.

And I suspect that your reaction to my acknowledgement of my ordinary human needs was part of that resistance to commonality and ordinariness... and maintaining the identity of "the different one."

So, I would challenge you to question why you're trying to transcend your needs in the first place.

Is it because you're trying to carve out an identity of being "different from the masses"?

Or is it for some other reason?

Lol, you’re funny though. Is your main need just being able to ramble about anything? I’m saying this respectfully, but it’s genuinely funny to read your posts because they’re so intricate.

No, I mean, I do have needs, but I was suicidal for a while. I expected the world to have more to offer, and the cause was basically the same feeling as finishing a video game and being stuck in the endgame with no more content left to really explore. My desire for death led me toward truth ( but it's the reverse as people suffering from feeling stuck, I had nothing to be stuck about ), but it wasn’t what I expected. It does fit your explanation of the character becoming self-aware in some way, though.

I feel like I’m hope-maxxing now, with the added possibility of AI happening, eventually leading to UBI and some kind of large-scale human liberation, where we can all just chill, live happily in communities, and do some Final Fantasy Zanarkand-type living.

Honestly, the feeling of a “meaning crisis” is still there, but not in the same oppressive way. I’m kind of playing around with it now. I’ve become a very optimistic doom-pilled person. I’m not fatalistic. I still like striving to be the cleverest person in the room, and in some sense I feel like I’ve won.

I can joke about genocide, death, Hitler, or whatever else because I’m extremely detached. I can do that with basically anything, even argue against everything I supposedly stand for, whether that’s my culture, my race, or whatever other bullshit story.

I do fancy myself as a good person, but I’m detached from human affairs to the point where, honestly, I don’t really care about the state of the world or whether my words ultimately affect people positively or negatively.

There’s much more I could say. Sometimes I feel like I’m the most “intelligent” person on Earth, and I don’t even mean that as a good thing.

I don’t mean intelligence in the sense of some fancy ability to understand advanced mathematics. I mean that, if intelligence can involve being able to detach yourself from everything, from language, perspective, identity, and even life itself, then that’s something I feel I can do better than almost anyone.

Even the hippie or the Buddhist is usually still attached to something. Even the guy who dies through extreme meditation can still be attached to escaping worldly experience or transcending desire.

I’m detached in a different sense. I simply let desires and needs happen within this point of view without treating them as fundamentally important.

And even on the ordinary human plane, those desires are relatively weak.

Sometimes I still get a sudden peak of delusion around achieving some goal, or the reverse: a sudden conviction that everything is meaningless.

I removed my post because it felt too personal. I don’t really like oversharing my identity online unless it’s within my private spaces.

Yeah, you’re right about a lot of what you pointed out.

Still, I don’t really judge normies for being normies. My judgment is mostly just fancy gaming.

I’m special, and you’re special too. Just look at your post. You’re posting on this wretched edge of the internet. You really think you’re a normal person now? Girl, you’re an absolute weirdo, sorry. No amount of self-proclamation that you’re normal is going to save you either way. You can go back to being an alien, because you are one!

I mean, alright, nowadays everyone is kind of crazy, so the bar has shifted dramatically in terms of what normieness even entails. We might all just be mildly convinced schizophrenics who occasionally need a puff of some nice self-narrative to keep the whole thing coherent.

And in the end, what even is “normal” or “weird”? It’s just another layer of fanciness.

But yeah, of course, if being "a normie" feels nice, just be one. Whatever makes you happy.

I’m still convinced that almost everyone on this forum is some kind of nutcase, basically a functional asylum with creature who somehow learned to operate in society.

It's possible in theory but to actualize that it will take amounts of development, emotional work and investment that are almost unheard of.

To just be well with yourself, balanced and happy is a full time job. Now add a relationship with a women, it takes a lot to have a conscious fulfilling marriage, which is why most fail. Each person you add to the relationship is an incremental exponential layer of complexity. This would be like a full time job, with no guarantee.

Let's flip it around, would you be in a relationship with 5 guys and 1 women? Do you see the amount of work it would take to handle 5 dicks and egos?

I'm sure some freaks have done it, but it's like running an Ironman, it has be almost your life purpose and you can't force it either, you cannot force love or chemistry or real bonds, you cannot force life paths either, it may work while the alignment is there but life is constant flux.

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty.  We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Wise, Virtuous and AWAKE. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life GOD is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, because The Sun shines through All: Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

If you genuinely want to be in a mixed gender polycule of some kind I think it can work with the right people, usually people with low competitiveness and jealousy. I think open relationships can also work with the right couple and clear boundaries.

But there’s an inherent problem where the more people you add to a romantic relationship the more chaotic and dramatic it gets. It can be fun, but I don’t know if it’s very sustainable in the long run.

You also have guys who want to be polyamorous largely so they can build a harem. People in the poly community actively warn each other about this type of guy because they aren’t really in it for the right reasons. It’s all about ego and status, it doesn’t match the core values of the poly community.

Polygamy works for men. It doesn't work for women. But most women would rather choose a high quality men and just be a side chick rather than be a monogamous girl for low a quality man. I think a lot of women already into polygamy but they just don't label it like that. Especially on those dating apps. Low quality men which is a substantial part of society can't get into polygamy even if they wanted. Polygamy is only for high quality men.

What do you mean by high quality? Money and status?  Agreed.  Kings had multiple women all the time even if they had one wife they had a mistress or two on the side.  It was pretty standard.

What a stupid generalization. Women are amazing creatures and have so much to give. Id kill myself if Women didn't exist, that's not a world i'd want to live in

And when you're with them you want to kill yourself too 😀 I think we're damned if we do and dammed if we don't!

Well..its illegal here anyway but multiple partners I think is definitely the way i am wired. So Mia and I reconnected and she is in an open marriage. I'm going to see her hopefully next week.  And then maybe she will have some new friends! The whole one woman thing just never worked for me.  Perhaps because of selfishness but also as Leo pointed out woman can be very difficult to get along with and if they feel you aren't doing your duties you will get nagged to hell and back.  If you do your duties in bed you can minimize this at least 😀

Exclusive commitment to men is also like exclusive commitment to women. You don’t see many men happily having their girl fuck and fall in love with other men either. In fact, they might be even stingier about it, with their obsession over “virginity” and “cucking.”

There really is no difference here, but a lot of men want there to be so they can justify their lust: “Oh, she’s a girl, she’s different from me. She likes it. Girls can be made to enjoy this. I can make her love it. They kind of do already.” Then they come up with a bunch of “biological” and other cope arguments as to why.

That is a good point, thanks.

I do feel like biologically- Women are more wired to find quality partners due to the risks and timeline of giving birth whereas men look for quantity due to the low risk and ease of spreading their genes. This has been proven. But you are correct that men also want exclusivity to ensure it is actually their genes being passed on.

Therefore, The "have your cake and eat it too" situation for Men is to have access to multiple women that are exclusively their sexual partners, we see this done by many Kings of the "GREAT CIVILAZATIONS" who had concubines of up to 1,000 women that they would ensiminate 2-3 times a day. From China, Babylon and Inca, this was the case.

The female version of having her cake and eating it too, is to have a good provider husband who is relaible and safe, while getting the better more attractive genes from another man, a lover architype so she has the best genes along with security to raise it, Cucking her husband, which is actually very common, Red Queen book really goes deep into this.

But you make a great point. In the monogamous societies we live in today, exclusive commitment from both is the ideal for both, but on some lizard brain level it's not the "best" for their genes and offspring

You're literally describing Stacy. She and I had a 2 year relationship from 2021 to 2023 and she was married.   She did not sleep with her husband but kept the marriage for the financial stability.  The health insurance, etc.  While she fucked me.  I was her boy toy. There was a time finally where she was going to actually leave and did for a bit..he had moved out. But by then it was too late I got tired of being her boy toy.

So, I would challenge you to question why you're trying to transcend your needs in the first place.

Is it because you're trying to carve out an identity of being "different from the masses"?

Or is it for some other reason?

First I want to say I really love your writing and contributions to the forum. I can tell you’re deeply integrated, self aware and clear on what you want/how you want to live. It's nice to have intellectual and deep conversations that go beyond reactivity and shit flinging.

The Batman/Superman analogy was fire.

That said, I feel like you hold a frame of basic “human needs” that “we all have” without acknowledging the nuance that this varies for people. Also, in your writing there is an almost an air of superiority in "doing the normal human thing" rather than aspiring to pursue consciousness and awakening, which can absolutely still be done as a householder, the Sufi and Classical Tantric traditions, for example, encourage this (Because everything is God so why climb a mountain to figure that out)

First, I feel like the “human needs” thing can be its own form of gaslighting, it seems very challenging for some people to accept that there are people who really don’t have many of those needs and actually are happy alone. Ramana Maharishi for example would probably be miserable living a householder life.

After working privately and intensely with Ralston I came to learn and experience that so much of our suffering and “social needs” really are just made up inventions and all this running around to fulfill those needs is draining and unnecessary. I’m not anti social, I love a good conversation and actively am dating around , but I really don’t need anything from it, and the second my social calendar gets too full I feel like I’m suffocating. I’m a big fan of “standing on your own feet” emotionally and being as non needy as humanly possible. I def agree that basics like food water health safety are non negotiable. Where I veer off is all the human social checklists. The less needy one is , the more powerful, peaceful and free they are imo. If there is such a thing as “basic human needs” it is much, much, much less than what we make it out to be. Remember for most of our evolution humans lived sleeping in clay huts, with bugs, mostly hungry, and with 100-150 others people and likely were pretty content and happy, probably much happier than people today. Of those 150 maybe 20-30 were viable opposite sex options for partnership, maybe 5-10 you were attracted to. People had to make it work with different personality types and desires, so I think the whole “soul mate/perfect partner” thing is largely bullshit and crosses a line into extreme pickiness. But i did read your writing on partner compatibility which did change my mind on some things, so thanks for that.

Regarding the whole “transcending maya” I totally agree. It’s not something to “transcend” and all that is mostly just a form of dogma. Like Christians breaking bread, Hindu monks go live in caves renouncing Materiality which ironically means you are still not free or aware of yourself as nothing because you have to run away from “material life” to be free whereas if you are truly awake there is absolutely no difference. So you are still bound to needing to be away from people and daily life and therefore unfree.

Awareness truly needs nothing and is wholly complete in itself as it is. From there a beautiful life can be built including relationships, work, hobbies, etc. It might sound radical or cheesy but I truly think if we can’t be totally happy alone nothing will do it for us. I do think radical non-neediness is not only a possibility but something to strive for or better yet, simply discover as true.

Lastly I read what you wrote on how people who grow up not fitting in then create an identity of “different than others in a good way” to counteract “different than others in a bad way” and im def guilty of this- but there has to be some sliver of truth in people who are more spiritually inclined, meaning they actually ARE different in some way. The “normal life” and the way it is structured and the rules of that game are simply unfulfilling and boring and that some minds need more depth, introspection, mastery and yes, dare I say Greatness or at least the pursuit of it. It’s like that quote “being normalized to an insane society says nothing about your sanity.” I mean some beings genuinely are different (“better” is more subjective) but I can say for myself if I had gone the “basic bitch” route i'd be Sooooo fucking miserable. I remember once driving to a job I had in my early 20s, an internship, and saying out loud “if I have to do this for 40 fuckin years I’m going to blow my brains out”

I’ve come to realize that the freedom to contemplate and read and rest is non negotiable no matter where or how I have to live to maintain that freedom. This comes at the cost of relationships, partnerships, social events and normal scheduling.

People will hate me for this but I do think there is something superior in living a life of contemplation, simplicity, modesty, mastery, and intelligence/understanding than just being an animal who sleeps eats and fucks. I find the way normal people live to embrassingly low consciousness and shameless, like pissing on the gift of life itself. And Emerald , you must admit, you are far from normal, I definitely don't see you as a normal person or "one of the sheep" try as you might. but i can understand the sentiment of dropping a spiritual or holier than thou identity and embracing the day to day life of being human, and i certainly think trying to "kill the ego" is an endless silly exhausting game.

And reading this i can't help but wonder- why would you want to RELATE to “common human problems”? They are totally dysfunctional, unhealthy and neurotic. It has taken me years to drop the normal human issues and I would never go back to that place not for 10 Million dollars. Nothing wrong with living a simple life with family, friends, hobbies etc but I’m never going back to taking it seriously, define me, or being needy.

It might seem like im arguing here , but in truth i agree with much of what you write, but if i agree with it then inherinitely there is nothing for me to write back about , and i love going into the depth and nuance of these topics almost for the sport. We're so lucky to even get to chose the lifestyles we want and have the freedom of speech to sit back on a saturday night with a glass of wine philosophizing these topics.

Exactly. This is actually more common than most will admit. Probably as common as men cheating for the sake of higher quantity of partners. At it's core it's just a bunch of genes trying to survive and reproduce themselves at the expense of their host humans body and life. Genes and nature don't give a fuck about us or our human inventions, nature can and will play dirty.

Is it so much about the man or women trying to spread genes or is it just about getting off.  Because she obviously couldn't get off with her husband.  So I filled that role.  For the kings..yeah I'm sure their secondary goal was to spread their seed. But their primary goal was to get off and enjoy it.

@BlessedLionbtw. Super cool that you worked one on one with Ralston.  He's a legend.  Was he a nice guy? Seems like kind of a dick. But did you feel like it was worth it? I've seen some of your videos on your channel are you still active?
