Yeah they should push back on some of that. I think the US will pull out of NATO though and will exclude Canada from security guarantees if the deal goes poorly and I will have to go up North to get killed by Chinese and Russian robots while freezing my ass off so I think that's truly the option they better fucking avoid.

Canada doesn't even meet Nato dues so our military equipment is dog shit as well. If that actually happens I'm moving to Europe and joining @TheGod in Marid; you better believe I'm not enlisting.

You guys see those terms Trump demanded? Total loss of sovereignty 

The larger game US is playing is trying to lock down countries into the US orbit and prevent any strengthening of a rival system ie China/BRICS that challenges US primacy

Remember Carney talking about Middle powers coming together to not be bullied by larger hegemons on either side.. US is pre-emptively forcing the question of picking a side now whilst it has the most leverage

If it were to give Canada time it would slowly build other trade relations weaning itself off US weakening their hand - but all that takes time. Avengers Mid Tier can’t get built in a day..

US for the past decades could allow Wall Street (finance) to monetise global industry and let its rust belt rust (industry) because it still largely fed a US imperial system - but now a alternative system is being built/led by China

So now US has to care about industrial strength (scissors) and secure resources (rocks) to back its financial power (paper)

Ultimately finance is a claim on something, financialisation is simply claims built on claims in a fugazi jenga tower but it still sits on a floor of real value that is its collateral

That collateral and material foundation now needs re-enforcing hence even Jamie Dimon with his paper empire (finance) now even saying US needs a “arsenal of democracy” and that “global reserve currency is at threat if economic and military strength isn’t fortified”

Hence all these tarrifs, coercive behaviour etc is an attempt to sharpen rusted scissors (industry) , secure more rocks (resources), keep paper credible (finance and what it claims) = keep Uncle Sam OS on top against Dragon OS emerging

@zazen Perhaps it will end up in a really good deal being put together and USMCA turning into the previously talked about North American Union

BRICS is looking pretty financially powerful with China going into the next 10 years but if the US and Canada make a good deal we have a pretty powerful industrial sector as well, not quite China level but still that combined with good relations with Europe is solid.
