Why aren't you going to the gym?

18 posts in this topic

I don't get why most people don't go to the gym.

It's the easiest thing in the world, yet the most rewarding.

All you have to do is train more than 3 time a week, specific diet isn't even necessary. No mental struggle, no stress, no failure pr hard complicated stuff, nothing.

After 3 years, you get a sick looking body, and a healthier one. you don't even have to wait 3 years, the benefits are almost instant, you get more energy, your skin gets better, your sleep gets better, you confidence gets better, you generally feel better...and I'm not even scratching the surface.

Get yo ass to the gym

Definitely. Even in off-days lift dumbbells or gas tanks .

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

I often get back injuries when working out by myself so I think I have to get a personal trainer to do it consistently and have it stick. When I was younger I hurt my back deadlifting or squatting and ever since then I try to get into working out consistently every couple years and I end up injuring myself and being in bed barely able to move for 2-3 days and then lose momentum and lose my gains and then quit it until the next time I get into a fitness motivation mood and start the loop again.

That's a tough thing to go through, hope it gets better.

Appreciate it. I'm 31 now so my body doesn't seem to heal as fast as before but I'll figure it out eventually even if I have to become a cyborg in the process

@LordFall I recommend trying out calisthenics. It is basically working out only with your body weight and I find it the most natural and safe.

Prioritizing protein is important, also being in a caloric deficit if you want to lose fat. So it's not like eating anything goes to build a nice body.

Hell yeah - I've been into weights, running, cycling etc for 22 years. As long as you approach with intensity, vary and challenge the body and do cardio and weights you'll be firing on all cylinders.

That's 22 years of habit. It's so reflexive I don't think I just do it before I even realise I started. Like getting in the car to go to work or grabbing tp on the toilet, you unconsciously just do it.

I'll say though it's sensible to have a balanced wholefood plant based diet with plenty of healthy fats. You can get by on basics, but if you balance and research your needs you can feel a great difference when you get it right. Especially fats. Mind calories and hit protein goals.

And chew your food motherfuckers! A lot ! Your boating will go away 😄

That sucks.

How did you injure yourself? Lifting too much weight without proper form?

I'm just setting the bar very low, to show how easy it is.
