Looks maxxing kind of makes sense after this video

37 posts in this topic

I was kind of anti looks maxxing until I saw this video:

I'm still against cosmetics for guys though. One can still maxx through natural ways like diet, workout and supplements.

LooksMaxxing makes more sense as a social media grift.

When billions of young insecure men are chronically online, someone will invent ways to milk that supply.

I agree with this, which is why I think for someone like Orion it was a matter of time before he jumps on it in some way. Capture the audience while it's hot, ready and there. Smart.

This is a bad take.

Yes, online dating apps are playing a larger role, which are visually driven.

But that does not mean the chief thing women desire from modern men is now their looks.

Online dating apps definitely screwed everything up, though. There is no success in online dating unless you are good-looking. This corrupts men's understanding of women.

It brings out the worst traits in people. All the wrong behaviour is rewarded if the intention is to build something of substance with another being with maturity, respect and gracious connection. The platform removes the context in which human qualities become visible.

You are very correct that it corrupts men's understanding of the nature of women. You end up in a terrible cognitive echo chamber where confirmation bias destroys truth. Dating apps create conditions where confirmation bias thrives because people receive highly selective feedback and then generalise from it.

I wouldn't say there is NO success in online dating unless one is good looking, but the odds are against you if you do not have that "look" to initiate a swipe right decision.

Who understands women more, the average man today, or the average man in the 90s?

With all the social media toxic manosphere ideologies, definitely the 90s.

There's just too much bullshit online and no direct experience of women.

looksmaxxers would be considered homosexual in the 90s and they would probably be right.

Yeah this is so true I tell my mates this all the time but they are so locked into the manosphere shit that they can't be helped.

It is a hard pill to swallow for ugly guys that looks do matter although it is not everything. I would say Owen Cook milks this situation as much by telling guys looks don´t matter while they do.

Everybody is trying to milk guys one way or another.

And from my experience you don´t even have to look that good. If you have average face, height and muscles you are ok. One doesn´t need plastic surgery or whatever.

But it is totally understandable for guys who do it. A sad matriarchal world we live in.

I don´t do online apps but if I would I would probably get depressed by the results. On those dating apps I can get a 4/5 while in real life I can get 8/9. Yesterday I had a 9 come over but I had to go to hell to win her over. On those apps if you look good you just say come over and they come over. That is what I understood from a typical good looking friend.

I have friends who are ugly and good looking on the dating apps. Ugly ones get a date every couple of months with girls they don´t like. While the good looking ones get drowned in optionality. And women just put out on the first date to just get a chance with them.

No one ever said it was bad to exercise, lose weight, groom yourself, dress nicer. This is like some gen alpha shit just taking regular stuff you gad to do originally and putting their own social media spin on it by adding crazy shit to it in order to grift and find ways to become famous on the internet. Since when was looking nice some new concept? A lot of guys just do a shit job at it and generally speaking there was less of an emphasis or expectation for it to be needed at least in the zeitgeist but I’m still fairly certain it always was a determining unseen force a lot of guys just overlooked (why do you think some women say no? They have their reasons). Maybe now that has changed some.

Early PUA maybe glossed over looks to a certain degree, maybe to a slight fault, but to be honest it was for good reason because a) it wasn’t teaching you to whipe your ass, obvious shit, not every teaching is complete and if you can’t put it together that if you’re fat as shit and un groomed and dressed like shit that it will affect your odds…. Idk what to say. 2) it was about developing your belief system, no longer being a victim and taking charge of your life through face to face action. Being slightly delusional in a way about affirming your value is extremely powerful in transforming victims. Challenging norms, making you tougher and more resilient by sharpening yourself and social skills and pushing you to take action. Looksmaxxing is largely by design for pure determinists and does nothing to work on your belief system about yourself. It puts you in a treadmill to try and buy products to change your face. Most guys won’t do anything other than that now.

Excuse me? Do not call me dummy.

They haven’t become more important. Chronically online tards just became aware that being fat obviously affects their chances with the instagram models they sit around fapping over. It always has, but people like you will run with looksmaxixng pollutants and use it as evidence against yourself to file away and strike down empowering beliefs about going out and approaching and socializing.

@Lyubov I don´t get where does obsession with fat comes from. Some of my friends who have trouble with getting a date through apps are not fat but the only matches they get is with fat women. By the way why do you use fat as an insult 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I can be hurtful for some people. Please mind your words
