Does Spain just not have any military or anything to keep people from crossing into it?

The government of Spain is an oikophobic migrant hugging government that hates anything that might be seen as "right wing" including having borders.

The irony is that the same mindset many people accuse Israel of holding towards strangers is the one they themselves hold towards Israelis when they generalize like that. At the level of mindset and psychology they are operating from the same place.

If with "strangers" you mean the people you took your land from and are currently taking, than yeah, sure, i make that accusation.

You sound quite biased but I appreciate your interpretation of things. I am not there on the ground so it’s difficult for me to know what’s true. There’s a lot of YouTubers peddling how immigrants are overrunning Europe. I don’t know if it’s just usual racism where most of them are fine and chill and a small percentage of the immigrants break the law. The YouTubers like to focus on immigrants breaking the law while simultaneously ignoring all the fucked up shit their compatriots do. So I don’t have the best read on the situation. I also don’t really care much either cause of colonialism. Not saying I support some heavy reparations agenda but considering a lot of European countries colonized the places these immigrants are coming from, I see it as a cosmic karma that will work itself out eventually one way or another. It’s a pity to see all these refugees flooding in though. I saw a photo of them and I would not want these people coming into my neighborhood or where my kids are. They look very impoverished and are definitely not going to integrate and that could cause some serious issues to the community.

Most of the migrants have gone back home by now anyway. The whole thing was a farce.

There was a bill in the US House a few weeks ago saying Spain must “decolonize” Ceuta and Melilla and hand them to Morocco - all but one (1) Republican voted in favour of it.

Since when do Republicans give a fuck about “decolonisation?” These people LOVE western imperialism, especially at the expense of Muslims. Also keep in mind Spain is a NATO ally, this would be as every bit as nonsensical as Republicans saying French Guiyana should be handed over to Brazil, but here we are.

Maybe it has to do with them supporting an authoritarian, far-right monarchy and not any meaningful concern for the people of North Africa?

Since when do Americans have a say over another country's affairs like that? It's a complete non-starter.

Exactly my point.

You can't be left wing without being in favor of migration. And I say this as someone who left the left wing.

CORE to leftism is the destruction of society and borders in favor of a globhomo soup working class utopia (that doesn't exist). They hate all forms of borders and hierarchy, which is an anti-truth belief.

Just destroy the fantasy of leftism and enter the real world. That doesn't mean entering the dumb right wing.

You're equating stage green with leftism.

No if a country commits a mass genocide, its reasonable to seem them as capable of other serious crimes too.

Keep going, you are only strengthening my point 🙂 You maybe haven't heard much about the wars against terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan, or about the civilian to terrorist casualty ratio in those wars. But what is more satisfying than jumping on the latest trend? The automatic anti Israeli bias some people have makes it impossible to reasonate with them.

Glad you find my points strong. But you are just engaging in whataboutism.

The ratio in Gaza by the IDF is many times worse than the ratio in Iraq and Afghanistan

https://www.theguardian.com/world/ng-interactive/2025/aug/21/revealed-israeli-militarys-own-data-indicates-civilian-death-rate-of-83-in-gaza-war

Check for yourself how many killed in Syria were combat aged men compared to Gaza, and Syria was worse than Iraq or Afghanistan as well.

And before you say Hamas numbers Hasbara again, IDF admitted the number is accurate and an undercount

Lets not derail into Israel bashing.

The connection between the border rush and Israel is tenuous any way.

My bad. I forgot we shouldn't hurt the feelings of genocidal regimes.

Europe took in close to 5 million Ukrainian refugees without any issues. 40k Moroccan zoomers isn't a problem. The real issue is a racism

Well there are plenty of issues, in Poland for example the anti-ukrainian sentiment is rising and some assaults are occurring because of it

https://www.infomigrants.net/en/post/72703/polish-prime-minister-warns-of-rising-antiukrainian-sentiment-following-attack

To go back to the Morrocans migrants, what do you propose they do with them? They can't stay in Ceuta there is no work or lodging for them. Even in Spain as a whole there isn't really capacity. Are you going to house and employ them?

Spain is one of the least racist countries in the world. They just gave legal status to over 500k undocumented migrants just a few months ago

@LordFall Where there's a will, there's a way. Also, have you heard of term: "España vaciada"? There're plenty of half empty villages with vacant houses in Spain btw

Civil consent is the real issue. If you skip democracy then soon enough you won't have one anymore. 60k people rushing a border is unacceptable, regardless of who does it. Cry racism all you want.

Yes and no. Ukraine has a similar European culture and religion to western European countries.

State lead multicultural doctrine that lets in lots of immigrants from countries where people are from a much different background and religion can push the status quo too much and I think it's reasonable for people to not want the citizenry to suddenly have a sizable minority of people of non European origin, especially during economically tough times, there are citizens of EU countries struggling, letting in refuges and people could put strain on the social system. I don't have any figures or proof of this, I am only assuming that having a bunch of refugees obviously is paid for by taxes.

Damn this is such a strange topic. On a human and political level I think it's way too lenient to give 500,000 illegal immigrants papers. On a more cosmic karmic level Spain colonized the shit out of South America so fuck em, what goes around comes around.
