I want to do this so BAD around Covid (lol).

There were so few opportunities when I graduated uni, especially during Covid and there was still plenty of opportunities in the teaching English industry in China.

I even got a TEFL certificate which most schools required.

Didn't end up doing it but I wonder what my life would be like if I did.

Definitely you can save quite a bit of money.

What's stopping you now? It's still a good time to go!

China is a great spot about now.

Bangkok and Shanghai especially convenient for those looking for a luxury lifestyle on a much lower western budget.

Kuala Lumpur would be my second choice for the more nomadic entrepreneur.

Best wishes.

Ah, you must be a fan of Andrew Henderson. He raves about KL constantly.

Maybe our tastes are different because without even going there I'd expect Shanghai to be too much like NY/LA (high-speed energy). Way too big and fast.

Hangzhou is right nearby. Excellent tea culture and scenery. I haven't been to either yet but am considering living in Hangzhou.

This guy was ahead of his time. Videos are useful and entertaining even a decade later.

Heading to Seoul soon, Henderson is new, KL will likely be my next marathon destination (just a great idea to run through all the beautiful spots, arrive at the airport and just jump on the plane straight to India). Yeah, I like peace as a medium, but I need a bit of adventure unless the tranquility is a disciplined interval, or for say, raising children.

When you come to Korea, take a train to Daegu. I'll grab ya a meal and we can check out the local scenery.

It’s so hot in Xian though… 40c

Could be worse. Typhoon Bovi is set to hit landfall in China by Saturday night!
